Did not have reservation
The room was good, but the hotel did not have my reservation at check in. This resulted in poor customer service by the hotel staff to correct this issue. In addition when we arrived the staff at the front desk (three people) did not greet or acknowledge that we were there for several minutes. They were preoccupied talking with someone else making us feel like we were not welcome as their guest.

Comfortable and perfect for its price
Only stayed one night so really not a fair judge. Didn't get to eat or play at any pools or anything, but the room was very nice and the staff wonderful for our short time. The location is alright, little noisy in the morning with the room right next to the road. It was very homey and comfortable overall though, just what we were hoping for.

Not worth the money
The one good thing about The Timbers was the bed. It was extremely comfortable, particularly for a non-luxury hotel. However, there were too many other things that went wrong to make up for the comfortable bed. The lock to the backdoor was broken, so I couldn't access the mini-patio and enjoy the summer evening. The hotel staff gave me conflicting information about if/when the continental breakfast would be available the following morning, and I ended up missing breakfast before my flight. The restaurant is closed on weekends, even though there is no mention of that in the hotel information online. I didn't get my 5:00 a.m. wake-up call until 6:07 a.m. Thank goodness I only rely on the wakeup call as a backup to the alarm clock. All in all, not a good experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Home away from home
The Timbers Hotel looked like a motel until we got to our room. We were upgraded to an executive business suite from a king suite because a large group of airline staff got all the king suites right before we checked in. The suite was quite large and tastefully decorated, with a large dining table and comfortable chairs. The king size mattress was the most comfortable and luxurious I've ever experienced, and the spa bath pool was large enough for two, providing a relaxing and pampered respite - complete with scented bath salts. The kitchen was very well stocked with china dishes and silverware, cooking utensils, pots and pans, a microwave and full refrigerator. We could have stayed there a week or month and would have been very comfortable. The location was convenient to the the expressways and the airport (they provided a free shuttle) and just one exit away from a new outdoor mall, anchored by Macy's and a Super Target. The only negative we encountered was the complimentary continental breakfast in the restaurant, which really wasn't up to the standards of the rest of the hotel. There was coffee, melon and muffins but not of very high quality. Based on this, we did not eat a meal in the restaurant.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
The Northfield Mall is one exit from the hotel; there is a multi-film movie complex, and three or four real, sit-down restaurants, in addition to other stores.

Comfortable Mini Suite
The Timbers all suite hotel was quite comfortable. The mini suite we were in (3 adults) was a bit small, but user friendly for one night. However, the lighting in the room was dim, and most disappointing was the fact that the restaurant was closed for that weekend! I had specifically picked this hotel because it was close to Denver International Airport (as we had a very early flight the next morning) and room service was suppose to be available. After all day skiing in the mountains, all we wanted to do was relax in our room and order room service and get ready for our trip home the next morning. Several fast food restaurants were nearby, but we chose causal dining at a TGI Friday's several miles west of the hotel.

Several fast food restaurants are close by; McDonalds is a short walk down the block.
