Friendly Hotel staff

[...] When we arrived at the hotel we were first greeted by [...], the doorman! [...] took our beloved minivan to wherever ... minivans go for the night, luckily when we got it back it wasn't pregnant. [...] also opened the doors for us. This took some getting used to, due to the fact that coming from Wyoming nobody opens anything for anyone. Our next incounters with "the staff" were all equally wonderful. Our only problem was having to pay extra money in order to have wireless internet. I feel that should have been included in the rather substantial room cost. If you enjoy feeling better than others around you then I suggest you stay at the Ritz-Carlton Denver!

Charged for parking - didn't have a car
Baseball fan Aug 14, 2009
Our trip was planned a couple months in advance to attend games in Coors Field. The location was very convenient to Coors and ... downtown Denver. We had requested and reserved a room with 2 queen beds, but only had rooms with one king upon arrival. A little inconvenient for four people. They did provide a roll-away at no charge. For regular coffee drinkers the gourmet coffee was a disappointment. The bed (not the roll-away) was very comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious. Upon checkout the desk clerk advised that the only additional charge was for parking. I advised him that we did not have a car so there should be no charge. Despite that, I returned home to find that I was charged for parking and am still awaiting the credit to my account for that. The concierge service was not very knowledgable when they were available. Mostly it was the desk clerk that came over to the concierge desk, but not very helpful. The parking lot attendants were more knowledgable.

Great Place, Great Time!!!!
Doc_Of Rock Aug 9, 2009
Great Property for the most part. I've stayed at several Ritz Carltons and I wasn't disappointed by this Ritz. The only ... hiccup I experienced during my stay was that they told me since I booked through Orbitz I was not guaranteed a King bed and was given a room with 2 full size. I booked Club level and was extremely happy with the selections for both breakfast and lunch. There were always cookies out at night upon returning and plenty of complimentary water. One night someone from The Food Network did a dessert presentation but I was unable to attend. Apart from not getting a King size bed, A wonderful experience. It was close to most of what I wanted to see and if you want to complain about the $26 for valet parking you can park across the street at the Greyhound station for $4. If you're booking The Ritz, I'm not sure why you'd be Whining about a $26/night parking fee. Great time, Great Place!

Convenient Location
Sleepy & Grumpy Aug 3, 2009
The stay would have been more enjoyable if our sleep had not been interrupted by rude drunk patrons after 2 A.M. every ... night. Staff should have offered to move us to another floor after the first night, at the very least. Second, many nice hotels have a second door in the room that opens into the sleeping part of the room to reduce noise from the hall. And, if the staff were more proactive, they could have accompanied the noisy party to their room(s), "to make sure they were okay" and to ensure that they did not bother other guests. At least, security did respond quickly when we called to report the problem. However, climbing down from the 4-foot high bed to walk across the room to the phone had already irreparably interrupted our sleep.

Amazing Hotel!
LeaL Jun 24, 2009
Loved everything about the hotel from the Frette sheets to the staff to Elways Restaurant located in the hotel to the Bvlgari ... products. Dinner at Elways was great and we had such an amazing table there. They offer complimentary car service there at the hotel which we used to go to the NinthDoor located close by for an after dinner drink. Cannot say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff was. Printed us walking directions and even when overhearing a friend and I speaking, provided us with batteries for her camera without us even having to ask. Talk about above and beyond. Will not stay anywhere else in Denver again! Such a great experience!

Ritz Carlton Club Floor A Waste of Money
Want Better Jun 21, 2009
We were in Denver for a wedding, and chose to stay at the Ritz Carlton because of their club floor offerings - 4 food ... presentations throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner appetizers, and evening dessert). We've stayed at many other Ritz club floors in the past, and had a great experience. But, paying the extra money for the Denver club floor was a waste. They had very few offerings for the continental breakfast, lunch was beyond ridiculous with just a few small tea-size sandwiches and chips, they had just a few fairly boring dinner appetizers, and their dessert offering consisted of a tiny bowl of chocolates. This was all very different from the other Ritz-Carlton club floors we've stayed at. (I just hope all the other Ritz-Carltons aren't scaling back too!) Also, be aware if you're coming with a family - it's not in a great area of the downtown. Other than the club floor issues, the place was outstanding. The bellmen and valets were the best, absolutely terrific, and the rooms were beautiful and immaculate.

The hotel was the best Ive ever stayed at. The people were incredibly friendly and personable and would go out of their way ... to make sure you were happy. Everything from housekeeping to the doormen were more than what could ever be asked for. I am spoiled forever by the Ritz-Carlton and cant imagine staying anywhere else.

Great trip
Gentleman Jack Jun 7, 2009
My wife, who is a perfectionist with Disneyworld her standard for cleanliness, promptness, service, courtesy, etc., compared ... the Denver Ritz-Carlton as ranking right up there with Disney. Staff very attentive, friendly and efficient, with one exception. The manager on duty on June 7th was a total jerk, when asked about a late checkout, because of a brunch, at which we were spending several hundred dollars in their restaurant (in addition to the $600+ spent in the restaurant the previous night and the fact we had rented 2 SUITES for the past several nights). He finally acceded to a one hour late checkout, with the stern warning that one minute past his "permitted" late checkout time and we would be charged for another night. His attitude was definitely not the norm, as the remainder of staff from housekeepers to doormen to bell persons to concierges to valet parkers were all exceptionally friendly, courteous, and helpful, all going the extra mile to assure a pleasant stay. Interesting that a total JERK would make it to manager at such a first class hotel. Don't let the actions of one JERK keep you from staying at the Denver Ritz. With that exception, definitely a first class operation with wonderful accomodations and exceptional service. Ritz Carlton is never a cheap place to stay, but this one is well worth the money.
