room was clean but shop worn

Friendly staff. Room needed updating. Carpet frayed. Reading light on the bed was broken and dangling. Maintenance came and fixed the light. Basics offered at other hotels for free were add ons here (refrigerator, internet). Expected more for the price.

The hotel was nice and charming and clean, but I was disappointed that the bathroom was so small and cramped, and the room itself was a bit cramped as well.

Great Historic Setting

Would recommend Mon, Nov 24, 2014
Well over all it was great - but there was room for improvement. Great Parts - the history of the site, the atrium, friendly staff, food in the Pirates bar was just above average but good enough that the atmosphere bumped up the value so that we were OK with the price. Loved the chandelier in the atrium. Liked having the bill under the door so we didn't have to spend any time at the front desk checking out! Needs improvement: 1. the ceiling fan was grimy, the room was nice but this was kinda gross for a high end hotel. 2. the outlets worked off and on an the hair dryer and iron did not work - took to long to get replacements. 3. would have liked to have had a preferance when booking for brunch as a hotel guest. We were not able to have brunch there since the only seating was the last one and we had to catch a plane, as long as there were vacancies hotel guests should have the ablity to bump non guests as long as the event is not sold out.

Great location. Small room.

We were a block away from 16th street to make it a breeze to get to food and sights on a weekend trip. Thought the room was a bit tight, but other than that, it was a great stay. Would stay there again!

A perfect stay. The staff greeting was cheerful and efficient. The room was spacious (actually far larger than we needed), the bed was incredibly comfortable, housekeeping and services were very responsive and helpful, and the stay exceeded our expectations in every way.

A Real Classic!

Would recommend Mon, May 26, 2014
The Brown Palace is still the grande dame of the Denver hotel scene, complete with top-hatted doorman, champagne greeting at reception, and tea and cocktails all afternoon in the spectacular balconied lobby accompanied by live piano. Totally elegant! Service is impeccable, food is exceptional, and beds are dreamy.

A luxurious stay at a luxurious hotel

Would recommend Sat, Mar 1, 2014
The Brown Palace is a venerable property in downtown Denver, with lots of history, an expansive, welcoming lobby and rich traditions. The staff was uniformly welcoming and helpful, the room was excellent, and our dinner in the Palace Arms was memorable. The location is excellent, being only a block off the 16th Street Mall, with all it has to offer. This is not the cheapest hotel/restaurant in Denver by a long shot, but we love it and go back every year.

Dining

There is a good breakfast place nearby on the 16th Street mall called the Corner Bakery...good stuff and a reasonable price.
