Great room, hidden fees

This hotel was a great location for us. Not too far from downtown, and easy access to the highway. Decor is sort of retro, but the lobby is nice. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the king sized bed was great! They do charge for a lot of extras, like Internet and parking, but overall a pretty good deal.

Reasonable quality at fair price

Overall reasonable value. I stayed here to avoid paying downtown hotel rates during a large convention. Cons: (1) No internet wifi in the guest rooms. There is free wifi in the hotel lobby. In the guest rooms, you can pay a daily fee to get wired internet. Wifi in the rooms is not even an option. (2) They will try to charge you for parking. The default option is to pay for daily parking in the parking garage. There is free parking on the street (which is not volunteered by the desk staff. (3) Location is not fantastic. You can avoid paying downtown prime hotel rates, but you will have a 20 minute drive to downtown. Planned Parenthood is your nextdoor neighbor. (4) Minimal room temperature control. Each room has a thermostat that you can adjust the displayed value, but the number on the thermostat is the desired temperature - not the actual temperature. We had maintenance come evaluate our thermostat because we couldn't cool our room. He told us that the temperature is centrally controlled, and guests cannot change the temperature in guest rooms. (5) There was no bathroom fan (not uncommon for older hotels). (6) No dresser drawers. If you want to unpack your suitcase, you'll have to stack you clothes on shelfs. Pros: (1) The room was clean. (2) The pools seemed well maintained, clean, and temperatures were comfortable. (3) The gym was surprisingly well equipped and no extra charge to use it. (4) The professional center allowed printing of airline boarding pass without extra charge. (5) The staff was helpful. They went out of their way to make a pleasant stay (minus the front desk staff failing to mention that free parking was available on street). The problems indicated above did not appear to be the responsibility of onsite staff, but rather poor management decisions.

Conference visit

Really everything was amazing. I think the only negative comments I made in 3 days was how scary the construction on I-70 was to drive through with a truck and that I had to hunt down trash cans on the conference room level. Everyone was courteous, the food was excellent.

Great hotel!

This hotel was great for our stay. We arrived late & the hotel staff was there ready to checked us into our rooms. The lobby is a wonderful place to hang out. Lots of really great sitting areas! It was very late when we arrived but we were able to get something at IHOP across the street. There's also Panera's, a Country Inn buffet and Walmart in that same plaza. Its not far from downtown Denver. We were able to go into the city and hang out for most of the day, go back to the hotel and relax before the concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Several eateries just across the road from the hotel. Toby Keith's I love this Bar & Grill is about a mile away. Easy access to the I-70, downtown Denver and the airport.

What a nice...Toot..Toot

What an incredibly friendly staff. The place is lovely and truly immaculate. We come from Vegas and this hotel could have stood it's own to the big casino hotels. Very comfortable room. Two things: King Bed was very saggy in the middle and my wife and I kept rolling into each other during the night. Also at 12 am and 2am, we heard the train horn blaring. Other than that, it was a very nice stay in a rather "eh" neighborhood.

disappointed amenities

We got there late, and left to the airport before noon, very disappointed they have no wireless internet, for an international traveler is very important to be able to get wi-fi, they charge extra for wired internet and also for parking, also their restaurant service lacks a lot.

Renaissance Denver - Wonderful Escape

Great Hotel. My wife and I were in Denver for business. The hotel was nicely located just outside Denver. We had a downtown view. It was real beautiful. The hotel's lobby is quite grand. The rooms are decent in size. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
