Great location and superior value in the heart of Denver

This wallet-friendly hotel is situated in Denver's historic Capitol Hill district, known by locals as the home of small music venues, new restaurants and interesting architecture. No skyscrapers here, but the State Capitol, Courthouse and urban residences make for an interesting, diverse neighborhood, complete with urban dining and entertainment minus the tourist-trap feel. Audiophiles love the location, too, which is just across the street from the Fillmore Auditorium and an easy walk to the Paramount Theatre, Ogden Theatre and Bluebird Theatre.

Old and Average

Everything about this hotel was very dated and average. The staff was a mixture of both nice to very nonchalant and not caring. It is on East Colfax which is not the best area but it is getting better. The main area of the hotel looks very dated. The elevator doesn't work properly. Room seemed clean. Not really what I would expect from a Ramada.

Good spot for a good price

Good experience. Location was nice. Hotel was nice and was reasonably priced when booked. It's not the heart of downtown but still walkable to several places to eat or drink. About a 20 to 30 min walk to the ballpark. 2.5 miles roughly. Only downside was the showerhead and poor AC unit.

Good Location

Hotel seems to be located in the Theater District in Denver. With that comes a certain crowd, but the area seemed safe. Hotel cleanliness was okay and the staff was very polite. Room furniture a little dated.

Another stopover in our vacation

Would have been great value if breakfast is included even at a slightly higher room rate.

Cheaper option, but you get what you pay for

Overall, the Ramada was not too bad based on my expectations and needs. The location is in a seedier part of Denver, the room was not all that clean (outside of the bedsheets - no complaints there), and they allow pets, so I heard dogs barking in the hallways at around 11:30. But it got the job done at a lower price than many of the other hotels downtown.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Whole Foods is a short walk away (about 5 blocks) for some great produce/food if you don't want to eat at a restaurant - I ate food from Whole Foods both nights.

Relatively good location, needs renovation

Many extras (shuttle to/from town, pool, bar/ resto) were fine. Rooms need renovation - old furniture, slightly smelly, definitely dingy. Fine for a short stay.

Does the job but nothing special

Neighborhood is not the best...lots of folks hanging around , several asking for money, etc. not comfortable walking around alone at night. Rooms are terribly gloomy and dated. Staff was friendly and helpful.
