Great location and superior value in the heart of Denver

This wallet-friendly hotel is situated in Denver's historic Capitol Hill district, known by locals as the home of small music venues, new restaurants and interesting architecture. No skyscrapers here, but the State Capitol, Courthouse and urban residences make for an interesting, diverse neighborhood, complete with urban dining and entertainment minus the tourist-trap feel. Audiophiles love the location, too, which is just across the street from the Fillmore Auditorium and an easy walk to the Paramount Theatre, Ogden Theatre and Bluebird Theatre.

Highlights
  • Close enough to downtown Denver, yet nestled in a thriving urban neighborhood with local restaurants, dining and music
  • Activities for all ages and interests within walking distance, including historical sites
  • Minutes from the Colorado Convention Center and State Capital

Rock-mada!

I had a great 3 night stay at the Ramada. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to the Ogden Theater and the Fillmore Auditorium... great place to stay if you are in town to see a show at either of these venues.

Watch out

Stayed one night last weekend and stayed in one room and saw mice in the room on 3rd floor water pressure in the shower hardly came out so I would not recomend this hotel to anyone the location is great and had a great view of Denver and the beds were not the best and the TVs are like 50 years old the staff there was nice and if u want to party it's a good spot but not too clean on the 3rd floor

Nice and clean

The motel is a little older, but my room was very nice and clean, and the bed was great. They offered a basic breakfast (you pay), and it was also good. The street outside had a bit of a homeless issue, so I really did not want to walk around much, excepting the really excellent Irish Pub / restaurant that was across the street. I will go back to this motel and the Irish Pub!

Not at all what was expected

As the name would lead you to believe, this Ramada does not actually reside truly downtown. The immediate surrounding area is sketchy and filled with bums. Currently we are trying to capture a small mouse that has been running around our room...i think that says enough.

Not so good experience.

First off, I felt bricked into my room. There was a pane of glass alright for a window, but there was a big loud heating unit directly on the other side - not one speck of sunlight. It was located right up next to the window so I got to listen to the thing turn off and on. I mentioned it to the night desk person the first night, but nothing was done about it. That room should be half price or very cheap and patrons should be notified up front. Second, there was no parking. When I pay for a hotel, I expect to be able to park. Since it was in a highly urban area there was no place to park. I drove around in circles for 45 minutes and settled on a place at least 6 blocks away. That's ridiculous. I was told there was a party and that parking would be available after 10:30. There was a party and I could hear it in my room on the second floor. The next day I ran to get my car and bring it back so I could load up and sure enough there was no parking again. It is very inconvenient when you have bags that you have to haul to your car. Last, the shower temperatures fluctuated and the toilet stopped working. I think it might be an okay place to stay, but for me, there was no value in staying at the Ramada Downtown.

There's a great Belgian resturant not far away. It's maybe three or four blocks west on Colfax. I asked the front desk and was only offered the place across the street. It's worth the short walk.

The place is cheap and and close to the city. I can't believe I haven't reached the minimum of this stupid tight up I mean the place was a typical hotek

Good Value

The Ramada Downtown Denver is a good value for the price. There were decent amenities like a coffee maker in the room. The hotel was within good proximity from downtown and, unlike the glitzier hotels in the heart of the city, this place was much more affordable but still within walking distance of major attractions. Being on Colfax Street also means that you're within a multitude of stores and restaurants.
