Baymont Inn and Suites Cortez

Everything was very mediocre. Very few amenities in the room, but comfortable bed. The large chair could have been replaced by a dinette so we could sit down to eat in the room. It would have been a more pleasant experience if the maid would have heeded the "Do Not Disturb" sign. When we complained to the lady at the desk, she defended the maid by saying that she didn't know how to speak or read English. Educating your maids, or better hiring an American would be greatly appreciated. Don't think we will stay there again.

Hotel pool was very cloudy, looked gross. Rooms were average for a 2 star rating. Breakfast was better than average.

The people were fantastic pool nice and food good was totally comfortable

The room was decent in size and bed was confy on the plus side. On the negative side there was dog food on the carpet from the guest before us. There was a dirty wash rag left in the bath tub. The pool looked like something living in it. Overall I think this hotel is lacking in management.

This is one of the newer motels in Cortez, so I was disappointed at the condition of the room. It appears there was a water leak at some point because the bathroom door was so warped that it didn't stay closed. You could also see damage on the walls and around the toilet. We went to breakfast at 9am, and there was hardly anything left. It was being restocked even though breakfast continued to 10am, however there were 4 housekeepers hanging out in the breakfast room, one was texting the entire time instead of keeping the breakfast area clean and restocking the food.

In an age when most people have discarded the old picture tube TV for a flat screen, for example, this hotel still looks and feels like a much older lodge from a bygone time, including the antique TV. The ceiling was stained across its entire width by leaks from rooms above (I was on the first floor). That could have easily been repaired. The front desk staff had no clue why the AC didn't work, and a young woman, from the front desk, should not have been the person sent to the room to diagnose the problem.

The room was big, and very clean, the breakfast was very good, and there was plenty of room to set inside or outside in the morning. We stayed in a ground floor unit and we didn't hear any noise at all from up above.

Big room. Pool and hot tub in interior courtyard. Fitness room. Nicer than usual breakfast layout: Big room, nice tables outside, or stay inside, hard eggs, yogurt and plus the usual. Only minus was a lot of pinesol smell, but at least you know it's clean! Also, close to great, inexpensive Mexican restaurant with full bar, El Burro Pancho. Would be good for kids too.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room had been reprinted and carpeted but cleanup incomplete. Seems to be a need for general maintenance. Overall good value.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel room was fairly large and had a refrigerator and microwave. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub and pool were clean and well maintained. We had a balcony view of the mountains and there was plenty to do. The towels were soft and clean. The only negative was the hot tub was not very hot(not a deal breaker). We are looking into other baymont hotels in the future. Would stay again.
