Good value
This hotel is ideally situated for a stopping point for a visit to nearby Mesa Verde. It's very clean and neat and uniquely decorated. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and truly added to our visit. The only downside to this hotel was the WiFi. It was very weak and practically unusable. NOTE: this is an update to a previous review in which I accidentally rated the wrong hotel.

Okay for one night
This motel has a great location, just off of I-70 and is reasonably priced. There was lots of remodeling going on while we were there and the jacuzzi wasn't available so a little negative there. Our biggest issue was with the WiFi. Each device you connect has to have it's own logon and password, kind of a bother, but oh, well. However, the WiFi must have been undersized because we couldn't use it until about 5:00 AM.

Sweet little nest
Stayed here while attending a workshop and stayed before in one of their courtyard suites (where I could let my dogs out safely) with an in-room jacuzzi which was great This was half the price and very nice. The breakfast is extensive but plastic and unhealthy!

Super location without the super prise
Great central location for Mesa Verde National Park, Four Corners area and some indian casinos. If you plan on getting any hand made native american jewlery or other items, this is the place to get them. Many of the items are the same as you see in Santa Fe or Albuquerque at a third the price and they're making it right in front of you; no "made in China" here. They're happy to answer any questions, tell you how things are made, what they mean and who taught them. From Cortez it's a short drive to Durango (take in the train museum! They're not just sevicing the locamotives and cars, They're building them too!) The best drive is heading out of town north on route 145 to Telluride. After some local shopping (no national chains in this town; EVERYTHING is locally owned, and in most cases grown and/or produced) drive 30 minutes to the ice climbing capital of the US, Ouray, CO. aslo known as the Switzerland of the US. Have lunch at the Silver Nugget in the Historic Columbus Hotel on 740 Main St. Check my review on this restaurant on Lonely Planet.com. When you leave town head south on route 550 Silverton/Durango, and stop in Silverton at the "ode 100" gold mine to pan for gold at a working mine. When your done, continue south into Durango on what is considered to be one of the top ten most beautiful roads in the county. If you like mountain biking or river rafting/kayaking there's plenty to be had in either Durango or Cortez and the hotel has a large self-service laundry to handle all your dirty clothes. On this trip the two longest drives are between Cortez and Telluride, and Silverton and Durango; each of which are about an hour to an hour and a half long. Even Monument Valley and Arches National Park are only about two hours away, but in opposite ditections of Cortez. Try not to go to Monument Valley in the late spring because there can be sandstorms of biblical proportions with winds well over 60 mph. It's no fun you can't see 100 yards.

Very nice southwestern hotel
We arrived and our room was not clean. I informed the clerk at the front desk that we needed to get ready for a wedding and she immediately switched us to a different room close by so we would not loose any time walking to a different part of the hotel. She was very accomodating.
