Days Inn Colorado Springs/Garden of the Gods

All right. Pretty much what you'd expect off a days inn.

Nice staff, very dirty hotel. Slept in my clothes.

Just spent three nights there, sorta by mistake. Was in a hurry to book something, and didn't look too closely at anything but price.. It was cheap, and access to surrounding things was good, but the place was just kinda gross and nasty. Was in town for a college reunion, and another alum and I were talking about who was staying at the worst hotel. We each claimed to be at the worst. Eventually we made an official contest out of it, and each took photos of our respective places. I was the "winner" for having the worst hotel. That being said, this hotel was actually surprisingly quiet for being right next to the freeway. The clientele largely seemed pretty shady, likely a reflection of the low pricing. Not a biggie for me, but a lone female traveler would probably be somewhat uncomfortable here.

We spent a total of four nights. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed the stay

Pool hasn't been used in what looks like years and has mud in it. Shower doesn't drain. Dogs loose in the hallways... cigarettes smell everywhere. and not clean. The people were friendly but if this hotel is a 2 star then I can only imagine a 1 star would be a cave. Please owners, take some pride in your place

Arrived at 3:00pm room was ready and got checked in quick. Staff was great and enjoyed our stay.

Where to start.. The bathroom floor was sticky, plus when we remove our towel from the towel rack, the rack nearly came off the wall. Both the porcelain tub and sink had multible chips in them of various sizes, with somekind-or-other black tar to fill in the chipped areas. The coffee pot in our room did not work properly, as the water ran down the sides onto the heat plate under the coffee pot. The laundry area was dirty and needed cleaning.. soap and mess all over top of the machines. At breakfast, one of the juice selections was out of order, soon after, the other selection stopped working. The donut selection looked like someone had opened about 10 bags of mini chocolate donuts and place them into the container. Oh.. and the swimming pool was drained of all water, and looked like it had not be filled with water for quite some time.. maybe years. Otherwise it was just O.K.

The location of this hotel is perfect! It's close to everything. The staff is really nice. The rooms need a little bit more cleaning (the carpets should definitely be cleaned). We used our own pillows and a blanket because when we were laying down on their linens, we started to feel itchy. It would be nice if they notified us before that the pool is not working, not just at the check in.

I opted for this hotel "on line" over anothwer because they had a pool. I was informed that the pool has been empty for a long time.

This is a two star hotel . For that level it was OK.
