Julien

Overall a beautiful place. The Samba band in the lobby was magical! The spa/pool area pristine. Just a few minor details not to my liking: the spa amenities, shampoo, bath salts, are so articficial, blue dye. I went to Lolita's market to get some organic bath salts. The bartender is just that. I was wanting a talented mixologist to make my margarita. Didn't happen, so I stuck with wine. The staff are courteous, but mostly college aged kids who lack some finesse and professionalism. Working at the Julien seems more in line for professional service industry workers.

Hotel

Our room key didn't work, got another key and someone was in the room. Hotel upgraded our room. Very friendly and helpful staff, however the wait staff not stellar. The layout of the room and the decor was amazing and yet comfortable. Our view from our room was a bit obscured due to the building, but we could see part of the mountains. Very nice and upscale hotel.

Fabulous luxury hotel

hotel was in a perfect location. The creek path was accessible from the rear of the hotel and pearl street was a 2min walk away. The rooms were very comfortable and large with fabulous bathrooms. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and polite. The food was excellent although we only ate breakfast but it was well presented of good quality and not oversized loke all other restaurants. The hotel laid on a cinema evening for guests. The pool is just a lap pool and isn't really suited to family use. The changing rooms are for clients using the Spa and not the pool. You are expected to wear your robe from your room. Car parking is cheaper within the hotel. The hotel has 150 spaces in the adjacent public car park and charges $17/24hours compared to $25.The concierge collects your car for you and parks it.

Classy weekend retreat

We loved this hotel. It's small, but it still has an atmosphere of grandeur. The decor is beautiful in the rooms and in the public areas. The bathroom in our room was large and exceptionally clean. I think the housekeeping staff does a fantastic job at the St. Julien.
