Family weekend

Mix-up with other reservation with same last name, but was given free dinner to compensate for a room that was less than what was paid for. Please check 1st and last names when people arrive. Liked that the internet was on throughout the hotel without a password. Liked that hotel was walking distance to most activities.

Great Location - Otherwise Not So Hot

Best hotel location in Bolder. Right in the middle of everything. Our single queen room was quite small. Also the walls are very thin, we could here the people talking in the room next to us and though the doors while walking the halls. The parking arrangement is a bit annoying. If you have a car you will have to use valet parking, at $10. A reasonable price, but adds some inconvenience to going out. Fortunately if you are there for an event downtown, you won't need your car since everything is within a few blocks of the hotel.

Overdone & way too precious

The Boulderado trades on its history. Here's what that means in your room: Ugly floral print wallpaper everywhere. (They even cover up the outlets.) Teensy windows so you can't see out. Useless desk, barely large enough to hold a laptop. Odd lighting. I called the front desk to tell them that there was water dripping from the ceiling. Some guy showed up, stuck a bucket under the drip and said, "yeah, that happens when it rains a lot." Hmm. Thanks. They didn't offer to move me to another room. "We're full." (NOT "We're sorry but we can't move you. We're full" just "We're full.") Happily the restaurant and the bar are both justly well-reviewed & I'd recommend them both. Now if only the other hotels in Boulder were any better, I'd stay there instead.

Just a short walk to the restaurants and shops on Pearl Street and to the Saturday farmers' market by Boulder Creek. Hotel staff were generally efficient and friendly.

Beautiful but Historic

The lobby and hallways were beautiful and really show off how historic the property is. The location, right off Pearl Street was just what we were looking for. Luckily we didn't need to spend too much time in our room because it was VERY tiny (more so than we were expecting). We had to call both nights to get a few extra towels, but they were delivered quickly.

great location!

Our family went to Boulder for a mini vacation and college visit. The hotel is in a great location and the staff is nice and friendly. The hotel has historic charm, enough restaurants, is clean and accommodating. On the other hand, it is old and not updated. Our room was kind of dreary and dark and the beds were not very comfortable.

Nice could be better

The location is right in town and has that old world charm and appeal. However, cost = value it doesn't have, and you may feel a bit like you got ripped off. The room was ok, nothing to write home about. It looks alot like granny;s bedroom, with bedspreads that my grandma uses and saw better days, a long time ago. This hotel could do better, alot better. Charging $315 per night should bring you better quality sheets, pillows and inviting bedspreads and linens. Decor needs help. Loved the atmosphere and whole history of the hotel, but, the price per night not worth what you get.

College Visit and vacation

The Boulderado is perfectly located in Boulder, in the middle of the fantastic Pearl Street area (walking distance) and a short drive from the college campus and the park/mountains. Quaint and historic, with no visible ghosts!

A Visit to grown up kids

The Boulderado is listed in the registry of historic hotels and exudes an old western vibe but with plenty of modern amenities. There is lots of dark wood, an ornate ceiling high over the lobby which is decked out with clusters of comfortable leather seating. Very friendly and helpful staff ready to suggest restaurants or arrange airport transportation. My Dbl Queen room with large bath was clean, comfortable and spacious, soundproof, but not oozing with period flavor. Hotel is convenient to a great variety of downtown shops, galleries and restaurants, no car needed. The Corner Bar was super relaxed place to watch a basketball game. A more upscale bar and "Q's Restaurant" were not sampled. Breakfast room service was quite good.

Excellent Location

We stayed in the newer part of the hotel in a Queen size room. Can't beat the location. The room was overall fine. I did notice the curtain sconce was dusty and there were scuff marks on the bottom trip from vacuuming. While I prefer a more modern decor, it was very nice.
