Great Location

My son and I stayed at Boulder University Inn which is walking distance to CU campus and to Pearl Street (Downtown). It is an older motel, but the beds were comfortable and the room clean. I would stay there again.

The Med was a great place to eat. About 1/2 mile to 1 mile away from the hotel. It was crowded, but service was fast and good. The food excellent! The price right. Check it out.

Boulder University Inn

Convenient downtown location. Broadway is a fairly busy street, so there is some traffic noise. Nothing spectacular -- the holtel is about 50 years old, although it has had renovations. Continental breakfast had very good coffee and juice.

Outdated but great location

The proximity to shopping, restaurants and the university is the only thing this hotel has going for it. It's in desperate need of a remodel. The rooms and amenities are completely outdated.

Horrific!

This is a extremely over rated hotel... Very disappointed - outrageous price! I stayed only one night out of the two I reserved. The bed was obviously a cheap mattress - so uncomfortable that I'm having to see my chiropractor. I spent the rest of my business trip taking pain medication for my back. Gotta love it when the shampoo dispenser doesn't work - body wash doesn't work on hair! I went to another hotel close by for the same $$ it was amazing and the breakfast included more than donuts & cereal.

Very basic, reasonably priced, well-located

This is a very basic hotel that is more reminiscent of a college dormitory. Just soap/shampoo in the bathroom, kind of like my gym, the room smelled pretty strongly of bleach, and it was very dark -- not great lighting. That being said it was 50% cheaper than other Boulder accommodation and was in easy walking distance of the things you want to do in Boulder, including Pearl Street shopping, Univ. of Colorado, and I even walked about 30 minutes to the Chatauqua park. There's a nice grocery store right across the street, and I must say the staff were very nice and helpful. There was free "breakfast" but it was pretty unappealing unfortunately -- just cereals and cheap pastries, and barely passable coffee. Still, for a budget traveler it's certainly not a bad idea, as it's perfectly serviceable and the people were friendly.

Bad dorm room from 1970

The staff was very nice, this is in no way a reflection on them. They allowed us to get a parking pass at 10am to park our car so we could walk around the city, which was great. When we returned to check in at 2pm there was a lady in the lobby, which is also the breakfast/office area that was screaming and using profanity on her cell phone. The staff did not try to have her quiet down. The room had not been updated since about 1972. The curtains even had holes in them which the light came through. The bed was just as old and was double, when I had reserved a king. We didn't even stay the night, decided to drive home the three hours at 11pm.
