Eco-friendly Boulder hotel offers indoor pool, dry sauna, climbing rock
The Boulder Outlook Hotel and Suites is a 2-diamond rated property and is Boulder’s first zero waste hotel, with in-room recycling and a “green” indoor pool, atrium, and dry saunas, earning it three green “Eco-Leafs” from the IStayGreen travel campaign. The hotel also is home to Blues and Greens, a blues club with live shows nightly. An 11-foot indoor climbing rock presents a fun challenge to climbers. Guests are treated to free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast and parking. Hotel is pet-friendly and has a dog run close to pet-designated rooms.

Highlights
  • Eco-friendly hotel
  • Indoor pool with waterfall, atrium and sauna
  • Blues and Greens nightclub on property
  • Free Wi-Fi and breakfast
  • Pet-friendly rooms close to dog run

Rooms
Woodsy brown tones are on the custom bedspreads and curtains in the Boulder Outlook Hotel and Suites' guest rooms. The in-room recycling program lets guests pre-sort their rubbish. Some interior rooms have pool and atrium views. The hotel allows guests to connect with free Wi-Fi. Proterra shampoo and amenities are complimentary at the Boulder Outlook Hotel and Suites. Pet-friendly rooms are close to a dog run. While the hotel is non-smoking, a few smoking rooms are available. There's no extra charge for room service should guests want to nosh on something from Blues and Greens, the in-house café and blues club.

Recreation
At the center of this remodeled vintage hotel is an indoor pool, complete with burbling waterfall, atrium stocked with green plants and puffy clouds painted on the ceiling. The pool will be kind to eyes and skin, because it isn’t treated with chlorine. An 11-foot boulder-wall will challenge guests of the Boulder Outlook Hotel and Suites to climb it; a four-foot mini-wall is available to little ones. Dry saunas encourage more relaxation. Music fans will want to hang in Blues and Greens, the noted blues club that doubles as a classic diner and vegetarian café.

Boulder Outlook

I always stay here when visiting Boulder. Not super fancy, but clean, safe basic motel rooms. Now with a complimentary breakfast bar. Very nice indoor pool and hot tub. Excellent value in an expensive city.

decent place to stay for a night

I booked a room at this hotel for price and convenience and because they seemed to have a decent breakfast included. I was riding the Buffalo Classic and the hotel was EXTREMELY convenient to the start/finish of the ride (my husband could walk). I would say overall that the hotel was average. There were some nice amenities like breakfast included, good sized rooms, recliner in the room, but you definitely get what you pay for. I might rate it higher if had a family but actually the pool being in the center of the hotel (had to walk around it every time we left) made for a chlorine smell throughout the hotel and some noise. The parking lot was crowded and we didn't know if we would find a spot again if we drove somewhere.

most fun hotel in Boulder

The Boulder Outlook is totally iconoclastic...a local leader in green sensitivity. Free breakfast is excellent. Jazz concerts many evenings on site are a treat. Unfortunately the facility and site have been purchased by a developer so after the local permitting process is complete this favorite of mine will be no more.

Great Deal

Very friendly service and great price for a hotel that has an indoor pool during the winter months. Will be staying there again.

Wacky and fun!

My friend and I stayed at the Boulder Outlook while visiting Boulder for an audition. The hotel was a little far from the CU Boulder campus, but the hotel was such a good value, we couldn't pass it up. Our rate was $80 a night, and we had a great double room with a view of the pool. The pool was AMAZING- it had a waterfall with real rock formations around it, and a huge spa. The only downside was that a group of 50+ high schoolers stayed at the hotel on the second night of our stay and were quite noisy, but other than that, we had a great time!

Very Unique

I was worried about staying here when I read the reviews, but with the price I couldn't pass it up! This place has a very different look to it. Very cute if not a bit strange. But has a neat pool and hot tub. Rooms were average comfort and cleanliness. The blues bar in the hotel is AMAZING though. Not too snobby or dive-y. Good beer on tap and the server is a sweetheart. I would definitely stay here again.

Convenient to University

Comfortable and and easy walk to the University. They have complementary bikes to ride around town, although most were broken. The restaurant was dark and in very bad need of a faclift. The staff was great though!
