We stayed at Christie because every other hotel was so much more expensive and it turned out to be great. 5 min drive from the mountain. Friendly staff. Nicer than a hotel because you end up having a room for each person since one person sleeps on
the pull out couch in the kitchen area.
The hotel was pretty cool. A good value for the money. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff was really nice. The only downside was the noise. Our room was right in front of the pool so we constantly heard children running around. If you
want to take a good nap make sure you check your room location, upper floor might be better too (unless you are ok with the noise ski boots make on tile!) Make sure you are not the one sleeping on the sofa! It qualifies as a medieval torture device (aka not comfortable AT ALL)
It's a great price for the location, but the hotel itself is soso. Walking in the door right into the bedroom is awkward, and the bedroom was really warm (in January) while the living room was pretty chilly. The shared bathroom with doors to both
areas is also interesting. The little kitchenette is nice, everything you really need to eat (no proper stove/range, but a microwave and electric skillet) and a dishwasher. The fireplace is a nice touch, but you're only supposed to use duraflame logs on it. When we were there, only one of the two 'adult' hot tubs was working (ie warm - the other was tepid at best) ... and eventually a couple with their kids also showed up. Not a particularly quiet location (both because of I70 and loudness inside the hotel) and there are a lot of stairs, but if you survived a day of skiing what are a couple flights of stairs? It worked for us, but when the sofa-bed is open, it takes up the whole living room area and isn't particularly comfortable.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Pazzo's pizza place is right across the street; pretty good food and decent happy hour specials.
