Don't Forget the Sunscreen!

The Christie Lodge provided a clean, comfortable room and a good value. I was especially impressed with the cleanliness of the lodge. The kitchenette area was thoughtfuly stocked. We did not find any great restaurants in the area, and the restaurant in the Lodge (Blue Plate Bistro) was nothing special.

Great hotel, great location for skiing

I was surprised at how many amenities were offered at the Christie Lodge for the relatively low price. We liked our room with fireplace. The room was very clean and in good shape. I liked that we could rent skis at the hotel. Hot tub, restaurant and work-out room all available. A shuttle took us right to Beaver Creek from the hotel.

Good location for the price

Ski trip- Hotel was adequate, but not fancy. Provided basic necessaties. Trouble with temperature in room (either too hot or too cold and fan was noisy). I would recommend, but would indicate that it is a budget stay.

Great Facilities, unfriendly staff

Went to ski. Facilities are excellent for the money, esp. in that area. Surprisingly, the staff is probably the least helpful and unfriendly that I've ever experienced in a hotel stay, and I'm an old guy and been around a little. It's strange, they all have this attitude, like they have the power and aren't going to help you, they make you have to ask just the right question in just the right way, and then still the answers are given w/o a smile.

Reasonable price, reasonable service.

The room was pretty nice and what we had expected for the most part. The kitchen was okay, there wasn't a stove or an oven though. There was a nice tv in the living room and a DVD player. Overall, the room was pretty nice and cozy, I would definitely recommend it.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The lodge was really close to a grocery and liquor store so we were able to get food from the grocery store and make it in the room.

Good Value in an unusual setting

The room layout and hotel layout are unusual. In order to get from the parking lot to our room you had to go down a flight of stairs, up two flights of stairs and down another flight of stairs. When you walk into the room the bed is right there and the kitchen is down a hall. You only get a second queen bed if you upgrade the room otherwise it is a very lumpy sofa sleeper. Both my kids had sore hips after sleeping there. The room was clean. The price for the Vail area was reasonable and they had lots of towels both in the room and at the pool.

Nice Place!

The hotel was pretty cool. A good value for the money. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff was really nice. The only downside was the noise. Our room was right in front of the pool so we constantly heard children running around. If you want to take a good nap make sure you check your room location, upper floor might be better too (unless you are ok with the noise ski boots make on tile!) Make sure you are not the one sleeping on the sofa! It qualifies as a medieval torture device (aka not comfortable AT ALL)
