Great place to stay

My boyfriend and I spent new year's eve there and it was wonderful! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only bad thing was our shower didn't work. It was a rough night but it was a holiday so it was expected. A lot of parties going on in the hallways and some kids decided to pull the fire alarm. But other than that it was great.I would definitely stay there again.

good value

Hotel room was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly. Stayed for two nights and checked in very late the first night. The room was not cleaned after the first night. When front desk was asked about that, their reply was "the hotel was only paid for one night" even though I prepaid for two.

Lackluster in every way....

The wife and I paid extra to get a Deluxe King room. We checked in and the girl at the front desk verified this to us, then sent us up to a double queen! I returned to the desk to be told that they had run out of King rooms and we weren't guaranteed one in the first place because we booked through Orbitz. I asked why she didn't tell me this moments earlier when she sent us up to the room and she said she didn't think it would matter to us. The next day, I spoke with another person at the front desk. After much arguing, we were finally moved to our King room to find it quite dirty. It also featured a Sleep Number bed in which one side was broken, as was the readout on the controller. The room didn't smell very good and the WiFi didn't reach this part of the hotel. Needless to say, I would never stay in this hotel again. Last year I stayed at the other Red Lion in the Denver area, and it was one of the nicest stays I have had at a hotel in recent memory. I will definitely make sure to avoid this particular location....

Great Price for the area in Denver

The hotel was quiet which is important, The room service was excellent for the price. GPS did not recognize the hotel address, which made it difficult to access the correct exit. You could see the hotel but didn't know how to get there. I would stay again, price was great.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Not for from malls and right across the street from Cherry Creek Reservoir and a bike path.

Visit July 24 to July 31, 2011

My granddaughter and her husband (after his discharge from the military) will be relocating to Colorado to attend Nursing school and the Parametric program. I agreed to take her to Colorado and research the Denver area, apartments, schools, etc . [...] we were able to find a hotel that was central to the area she was interested in. The Red Lion Hotel Denver Southeast was perfect. With that said, I found the beds to be very soft and the mattress cover NOT fitted which means when you turn it crumples under you. The fitted sheet was not tight and came off the corners during the night. The food in the restaurant was OK nothing great. Their was not business center where you could go to use the computer to print directions...........you had to pay to use the computer. NEVER have I had to do this before. The personnel at the front desk were friendly but didn't know where anything was when asked for help. There was a list of restaurants within 5 - 10 miles and that was nice. But they didn't know how to get to any of them. The AC was loud and came on/off all during the night. Usually my experience with Red Lion has been wonderful........this was OK but not wonderful.

The list of available restaurants provided by the hotel was valuable and provided an option to eating in the hotel.

Red Lion Hotel Aurora

The hotel smelled awful on the sixth floor. The hotel is run down, outdated, and dirty. The ironing board had no cover and when I asked the fron desk person for an ironing board with a cover she could not understand what a cover on an ironing board was for (she apparently does not iron her clothes). The blanket on the bed was thin and could not keep you warm. There was another blanket in the closet but someone had used it to iron, and as it was acrylic is was burned/melted. The common bathrooms had no soap the entire time I was there.

The Hotel

Visited the Denver Area. We would have liked the breakfast to be provided with the hotel stay, it was supposed to be but was not. Also no indoor pool which also was in the online notes but was an outdoor pool and was closed. Overall this was an enjoyable hotel if you do not look forward to the above mentioned items. The rooms however were very nice and the staff was great.
