Summer in Aspen
This was a great stay for a great price, compared to other options in Aspen. The hotel is just a few blocks from downtown Aspen, making everything no more than a 15-20 minute walk. The room, beds, and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There is a very comfortable feel to the common areas in the lodge, and the complimentary breakfast includes cereal, fruit, hardboiled eggs, waffles, and all manner of toast - definitely beyond your average continental breakfast. The staff were great, took care of a minor reservation mix up with no hassle, and recommended a great barbeque place for lunch just down the street. All told, a great experience for an exceptional value.

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
If you don't mind the extra 30 minute drive to the attractions in Aspen, staying in Snowmass will be less than half the price of staying in Aspen. Otherwise, the Aspen Mountain Lodge is one of your best values.

Nice, reasonably priced facility
Nice facility at a reasonable price! The desk clerk was extremely personable and helpful. Easy walking distance to downtown shopping and dining. Would have been better if pool and jacuzzi weren't closed for cleaning at the time of our stay. However, we would definitely stay there again!

helpful staff, good location and value
Stayed at Aspen one night and the hotel fit the bill perfectly. Would have been nice to have their own bar and restaurant, but was close to all the Aspen attractions. Rooms were nice and air conditioned

Economical for Aspen
We visited over the 4th of July weekend. Parade staged immediately in front of Aspen Mt. Lodge. We walked 5-6 blocks to the music tent, and equal distance the other way to the center of downtown Aspen. Located in the west (nicer) side of Aspen. Very cosy place - don't expect roominess. Very cordial staff. Very good complimentary breakfast. Clean. For Aspen, an extremely good deal I thought. Only complaint was a terribly soft mattress!
