Not worth what was paid for!
Location was the only thing that may have been nice. However, there are lots of other hotels nearby for the same price or $50 more but worth better quality. Rooms are not anywhere near the picture, old ugly carpet & drapes. Nothing in the room made it worth it. Walls are sooooo thin. After taking a good look at the lounge & pool area, its so cheap looking. Could have paid the same for much better quality. Not my first time in W.H hotels but my first at The Standard & my last! Worst night ever.

Great location. Great scene.
We spent the night here for an anniversary night out. The location was great. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We loved the pool scene for the Saturday afternoon pool party. The rooms were fine. Not much to speak of. The decor was cool, but not a lot of extras. We would definitely stay here again.

Average hotel, unreasonable price
My friends and I stayed two days at the Standard and it was one of the the worst hotel experiences of our lives. I'll start out by mentioning the positives: its location is great and the pool is wonderful. Otherwise, the Standard's awful. The staff was very rude, unprofessional, and unfriendly. It cost $29/day to valet park the car, and when they returned it, it was scratched and dented. The hallways are too dark. The room was nothing special at all; I've stayed at nicer ones in Holiday Inns. The room smelled bad, the iPod dock didn't work, the bathroom wasn't clean, there weren't enough lights in the room. And what's up with the bean bag chair? The room was also very noisy; at night the floor shook from techno music played below us, and the people upstairs sounded like a herd of elephants. When we called the front desk to complain, it was at least a half hour before they did anything to help us. I would never stay at this hotel again. Our room cost $250 a night, plus an additional $60 in tax and $58 for parking. It definitely wasn't worth it. Next time I'm staying at the Hollywood Roosevelt; it's a much nicer hotel and is worth the price you pay. The Standard needs an upgrade.

Absolutely horrible
There is absolutely nothing nice I can say about this hotel. I would give it a zero if I could. The room was in a decent location on the strip that was the only positive. the hotel staff was generally rude and unaccommodating. In particular one staff member was so rude, that if the hotel wasn't prepaid I would have cancelled it. I actually almost still cancelled and was going to lose my money because he was so darn rude. The room was I guess trendy or trendy to them. But it was old and grimy looking to me..and not very comfy. Additionally the water smelled, I mean smelled so bad I would gag showering, and I am not an overly sensitive person. I swear I almost wanted to forgo brushing my teeth not to taste it. It was clearly some pipe issue since the rest of L.A has decent water. I mean it was like water you would find in squalor. Additionally the pool was horrendous. There is no way I would hang out there..even if it was free. Please AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS! HORRIBLE!

Anti trend
Bad rooms
I have been in nicer rooms at motel 6, the whack trendy room translates into an empty room with a hard bed and no furniture, the bed didn't even have a quilt on it. Overpriced drinks and over hyped experience In General. Never again!

Retro Hotel
Great location close to all major spots, next to the Skybar and HOB. Its an old hotel with a minor facelift. The staff was decent however I asked 3 peopoel for bars and dinning suggestions, they had no idea. I thought it was odd, I guess everyone is 21 or under. The room smelled funny. The pictures are way nicer than the actual hotel. Its worth $120 max.

LOVE The Standard! The poolside
LOVE The Standard! The poolside area is amazing, the rooms are kitschy and comfortable, the service is great and the prices are affordable. Also the location in the middle of WeHo is fantastic. The only downer is the parking - $30 a night, plus tipping every time you take the car out, it gets expensive.
