Stay in the heart of Ventura next to the beach and pier
Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Ventura is a convenient stopover on the famous Hwy 101 California coastal drive and one of the most centrally located value destinations within Ventura. This hotel boasts a beach backdrop yet it is within a few blocks of the freeway, fairgrounds, downtown and Amtrak station. Walk on a pedestrian overpass to surf breaks in minutes. Stay ar Country Inn and Suites, Ventura
Staff was friendly, Rooms are big and spacious and each room has microwave and referigerator which is a requirement with a 2 year old kid. There was noise from HW101 so I asked them to change it ot the other side and they did it happily!

Very nice week
We were visiting family. it was a good location and everything was just fine. We had a view of the train and highway but the noice really did not bother us.

fantastic getaway to go shopping
I really liked the hotel it was clean and the room was very spacious. The hotel is very close to the freeway so easy access to shopping and restaurants. I wish the breakfast would run past 10 am. Would stay again.

NOisy, dark and ugly
Waste of money and sleep. I checked the reviews and THOUGHT it was good. Very badly located on the end of a dark street just over the freeway and the train tracks, so you can imagine how noisy it is(be aware of the 3:15am train). Room is huge but kind of dark and ugly, not pleasant to the eyes. Not even the TV is well placed in the room. Not that I thought about using the bathtub, but it looked nasty with about 8 plugs in it. The free continental breakfast was ok, the eggs had no taste and the orange juice was kind of thick when I finished, not at all close to what I drink. I didn't even thought about going in the swimming pool, it was small and had a great vies of the freeway and train tracks, just like the bedroom, and as noisy as the bedroom. The whole hotel looks old with the dark carpet. DO NOT RECOMMEND. BAD LOCATION

Great couples getaway.
The hotel staff was very friendly, even when we chos eto stay an additional night they informed us of doing so onthe interner due to better pricing. They have a computer avaialable right inthe lobby too. The breakfast was much more than continental, full course. I will definitely stay here again. Close to everything you can possibly do walking distance to shops, restaurants, and pier. We actually had a pier view from our room.

An excelent motel at a great price.
[...] Third night free so my three nights cost an average of c. $75, including a great breakfast. Large room, well furnished, clean, comfortable, and with a good staff. My only complaint was that my room, on the seaward side, faced a railroad track, a busy street, and Highway 101. Which is why I carry ear plugs on a trip.

I visited out of season so the
I visited out of season so the hotel was relatively empty. Good disabled room close to reception. Free internet access in the lobby but via an ancient PC which needs replacement. Decor could do with refreshing in someplaces. Good free breakfast but it finishes at 0930, so don't have a lay in! Railway runs past the back (seaward side) of the hotel, which can be periodically very noisy.
