Great hotel, mediocre location
The Holiday Inn Express provides a good quality stay experience that meets virtually every need. The main thing is that the room was adequate with the exception of the lack of a small refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable and the staff are friendly. The bathroom is a bit small, but at least the shower head is high enough above my head and has excellent water pressure.

There's a small texas style eating experience called the hogley wogly! It's down on Sepulveda just across an overpass about two miles from the hotel.

Party at the Holiday Inn!
The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and the continental breakfast was very good. If you're a coffee lover like me, try the 100% columbian, delicious! One dislike, the bathroom is a bit crammed, other than that, we were very satisfied.

overall, good experience
Very clean room and quiet during the night. Bathroom was a bit small for taste. The free morning breakfast makes it all worth it!

Quick Trip
The check in host was very friendly and nice. The room was large and the beds very comfortable with pillowtop mattresses. Everything was really nice. We could not have asked for more for our needs. It is very close to the 405 freeway.

Great Hotel - Location & Price
Went with the family to Universal Studios (~ 9 miles away), so needed a hotel somewhat close. Hotel was great (good location & price). Plenty of free parking (some hotels actually charge for parking). There is a Denny's, Burger King, & Taco Bell right next to the Hotel. The complimentary Hot breakfast is much, much better than "continental" breakfast other hotels offer. Bathroom was a little small, though it had marble throughout. Hotel is highly recommended.

Holiday Inn Express, Van Nuys.
Mostly visiting relatives. Not too much in the way of restaurant recommendations and shopping. Room didn't have any local ads. Having never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before, we appreciated the hot breakfast. Loved the thick mattresses!

Short drive from hotel
The location was very central for our purposes. Although this hotel was in a rather commercial area, it was very convenient. It was very close to the Getty, which I REALLY wanted to see, but it was Easter week and cars were backed up to gete into the parking lot.

Picky about aesthetics
quick trip- had exactly what we needed
My husband and I were in town for a wedding and needed a nearby "home base" to get ready, rest, etc. We arrived in town early and the staff was very friendly and helpful by allowing us to check in early. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was comfortable and "felt" clean- nice clean, bright white linens as opposed to the "everyone in the world has slept under this dingy stained polyester bedspread!" We arrived at the breakfast bar right before it was scheduled to close and still had plenty of choices for breakfast- very tasty! Only tiny downsides: our room was right outside the elevator. We weren't really disturbed but occasionally could hear people coming and going. And the fan in the bathroom didn't work. This was a small enough detail that I forgot to mention it to the front desk. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will look for a Holiday Inn Express in the future .
