The Tallman Hotel in Upper Lake, California is a return to a simpler time. This handsome country hotel, built in the 1890s, was completely restored and expanded to a 17-room luxury facility between 2004 and 2006. The historic hotel received one of seven statewide historic preservation awards in 2007 from the California Heritage Council and, in July 2008, it was officially listed on the California Register of Historic Resources as a Point of Historical Interest. The interiors of the hotel are inspired by the natural setting of Lake County. Antique and custom crafted furniture, hand painted murals and artwork depicting flora and fauna create simple yet sophisticated surroundings. Eastlake style furniture decorates the guestrooms. A collection of working gardens produces vegetables and flowers for the hotel. A set of cottages, out-buildings and a swimming pool complete the bucolic scene. The authentic look and feel of the hotel transports patrons back in time -- but geo-exchange heating and cooling systems, solar panels on the roof and modern facilities all produce a comfortable, state-of-the-art, eco-friendly environment.
Rates quoted in currencies other than the hotel's base currency are subject to the rate of the international exchange. Rate may change throughout stay. Rate may reflect average nightly rate. Extra charges may apply. Incidental charges, such as room service, are not included in the rate.

This is a place I would have loved to spend more time! It was really easy to get to. The staff was very friendly & helpful (since we didn't get there until very late) the room was very clean the bathrooms were nice. The overall feel was very cozy.
Breakfast was great. The grounds were beautiful & if you have the time it would be a great place to relax.

So Wonderful, We Didn't Want to Leave!!
The Tallman Hotel is truly a hidden gem. We booked a one night stay at the end of a 5 day driving tour of California and now I wish we had been able to stay longer. The room was charming and made to feel like home with all the comforts you could
have asked for. The staff was so friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome and special from the very start. I would also highly recommend the adjoining restaurant, The Blue Wing for brunch or a nice dinner. I really hope we're able to go back one day!
