The staff placed me in a room with no bathroom or TV,, very small,, I asked for an upgrade to a room with these features. The upgrade cost was 100.00 The room had a radiator that was to put out heat as the temp outside was 30 degrees. The room
stayed cold all night, bathroom was freezing. Very uncomfortable night,, tired the next day. Will not stay at this hotel ever again.
This is not a hotel most of the rooms are like a youth hostel with a shared bathroom. I was not made aware of this by this site. Further, the building is so old is uses radiators and I was not able to control the heat in tiny room, I had the
window open all night (it was 25F outside) and it was still too hot. I asked for a room with a bathroom and they told me that would be more than 2x the price I already paid. Maybe a good place for a 20 year old pack packer but I am a professional Business traveler and you could not pay me to stay here again
Experience was historic. As in the bathroom is down the hall, the AC is a fan and a window propped open by a 2x4, and the stairs are narrow, steep and look quite dangerous.
Breakfast was peaceful and simple. Parking could be a pain if you stuck
around from 10 am to 6 pm.
Complete with toilets and baths / showers across the hall, sloping floors, creaking stairs, and little extra room, this historic hotel offers a clean place to stay for a moderate price (for what you get). It is a bit noisy, so if you're a light
sleeper or really looking forward to a restful night's sleep this is not the place for you. If I was twenty something again, it would be perfect.
