Great relaxing getaway.
Northstar was a great relaxing getaway. Stayed in a ski condo which had 1 bathroom, kitchen, fireplace, deck with view. Only setback was The Village closing for the off season which lasts 4 weeks in April/May.

Overpriced with few amenities
This is squarely a 3-star hotel at a 4-star price. Yes, the location really can't be beat, but that's about it. The "front desk" is a 10 minute drive down the hill and not open 24 hours. No room service, no mini-bar, minimal housekeeping service (clean towels only); no real amenities other than the location. The water doesn't maintain a constant temperature, which is clearly an ongoing issue since there are placards warning you that the water temperature might change quickly. No thermostat in the room -- just a wall heater with an on-off switch. Decor straight out of 1970. Scratchy sheets with the room number written on each item with a marker. Very low-class. Really, the whole experience was incredibly disappointing for the price -- a whopping $249.00 a night when we stayed.

Cozy Country Atmosphere
From the moment we arrived we knew we made the right choice. Check-in personnel were great and the accommodations perfect. We had a studio condo with a gas fireplace that kept the place warm, cozy, and romantic. Fireplace stopped working at one point but one phone call had maintenance at the door in 15 minutes and a faulty thermostat replaced immediately...that's service! We would stay again.

Good for family
All the space you need. Easy shuttle to mountain, easy and fast checkin and checkout, convenient access to everything at Northstar. Condo has three levels, three bedrooms, convenient washer/dryer and everything you need in a kitchen. Only complaint was that the beds were too soft to be comfortable.

What a Trip!
This review is for my overall experience with Northstar Resort and the Ski Trail Condos. Kudos to the staff!
I often don't provide personal reviews as most of my experience is similar to the average joe. But I wanted to make an exception, since I
possibly had one of the greatest weekends in a very long time!
I signed up for the Tough Mudder event on Saturday, but was hoping to get some mountain bike riding in early Friday. Orbitz had an exceptional deal for a studio at Northstar condos that I snatched up for a three-day weekend, Fri-Sun. Upon check-in, which I arrived at 1pm, they not only checked us in early but upgraded us to a 1 bedroom Qn since they didn't have a studio available at the time.

Short walk from hotel
There IS no night life at Northstar during the off season. You'll need to plan on going off property.
