Torrance Marriott South Bay

Everything about this hotel is excellent! Loved it. I wish we didn't have to pay $12.95 a day for Internet access, but everything else was fantastic. I was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Valet parking for $17 a day? Very nice! Overall, a great place to stay. I'd stay there again.

Our stay here was comfortable but not quite what we had envisioned. The hotel is definitely older and although work has been done to modernize, there is no getting around the small-ish rooms and quite small bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and having a balcony was nice. All elevators but one are *extremely* slow. The location is ok--mall across the street has good stores and there are enough restaurants nearby, but the location is nothing special. I was also *not* a fan of the $15/day charge for self parking as well as the $17/day charge for internet.

The hotel was great. Helpful staff and comfortable room. I thought it was wrong that the hotel charges for parking a rent a car. Parking should be included. I was very disappointed with Advantage Car Rental. The fees were not as promised. It was highly recommended to me that I pay for additional insurance at the rate of $30. per day (in other words, you better order this or you could end up paying thousands if the car is damaged in an accident). I would not rent another car from them at all.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights the last week of the year. We had a nice room. It was a little small but nice and clean. The pool was very clean and nice as well. It is partially outdoor as well as indoor. The staff was very helpful, they gave us a lot of tips and information about tourist and local places to go. The internet WiFi connection is complimentary only at the lobby. Parking is available - but costs extra 12 USD.

We traveled from New Jersey to attend a wedding, and only need a nice place to stay for a few days. The Torrance Marriott South Bay is perfect for that reason. It is well maintained property with friendly staffs. The nearby shopping mall has anything you need for any occasion. A short ride to visit Hollywood to visit Redondo Beach and Hollywood made the trip much more fun and worthwhile.

The room was very clean. In fact the carpets had just been cleaned, and they were still quite damp when I checked in. The room was free of any heavy chemical or smoke odors, plus it was quiet. It was handy to shopping with a huge mall just behind it. Plenty of areas to eat right around it, and the wharf was just a couple of blocks away.

I had a short trip to LA and it was great for the money. I loved the location and the fact that there was mall across the street and shops very close by. It was comfortable..nothing plush, but, a little better than standard I would say. I would stay here again for sure. The staff was very friendly and helpful

stay was okay. front desk staff is usually nice but this time attitude was received when asking for comping parking ($15/day). the room was clean but had two full beds instead of two queens. still it was a great value through [...].

We arrived late Friday nite to find a huge outdoor party going on at the hotel. We had to use Valet parking because the self service area was FULL due to the convention the hotel was hosting ALL week-end. The parties and music went on till 2am both nites, and then the motorcycle guys revved up for 15 minutes and then rode off. We had called earlier in the week to make sure we would get a king sized bed, and the check in person was obliging, but it would've been nice if they had put us in a room AWAY from the party rather that right above it. Of course, the hotel was full so they couldn't move us to the other side of the building. When we checked out ( the TV checkout wasn't working) the girl never asked if we had a good time...nothing! She tried to charge us for valet parking for the entire stay, even though I had talked to a clerk on the second day who looked like he was changing something in the computer...and obviously didn't. And the bed was very uncomfortable.

Great location, great staff!! . . Excellent service!! There was a convention for "Key club" for high school and college students so there was a lot of noise in lobby and running up and down the hallways during the night. Also some noise from the plumbing in the walls during the night. Overall, the location can not be beat and the staff is great!!
