disappointed at first

We checked in and the rooms are average, but as soon as we opened the door you could smell cigarette smoke (this is supposed to be a 100% non-smoking hotel). We left and came back later in the evening and the smell was getting worse...we had an adjoining room door in the wall and the smoke was coming from the room next door, and so was all the loud noise, walls are very thin. we called front desk and they were very apologetic and moved us to another room. It was nice but you either had the heater on all night or off, there was no ventilation system working. The breakfast was very good though, and the staff was friendly.

Clean, but very basic...over priced

Extremely over priced for what we got, it was clean and workers were pleasant enough, just felt like it was really over priced at $150 a night, friends staying at other hotels around same price had much better accommodations. No wine country ambiance, like any motel along the interstate USA.

Pleasant Stay

Hotel was apparently recently renovated. Clean, quiet rooms. Oddly, they use several small, square pillows for the beds, rather than two of the normal, rectangular ones, and even though they were comfortable, if you're particular about your pillows, you may want to bring your own. Breakfast in the morning was also good. Considered staying at La Quinta, but found out they are right next to each other, so why spend the extra money when this place is just as good? Only slight negatives: The front-desk lady tried to hustle me when I checked in. Rather than asking me if I planned on using the safe in the room, she asked if I wanted to put the $1.50 safe fee on my credit card. I had to ask her if that was optional (which it is), since I did not need the safe. Had I not asked, I would have been charged for something I didn't need. Bad bad bad. Only other thing was that someone checked out from the room right next to ours and apparently set the alarm for 1am. It took the staff 30 minutes to get in the room and turn it off. Overall, however, good experience here.

Worst time ever

I can not tell you all the problems in the night, had to go 3 times to have key activated, plumbing in bath broke, had to send us to a new room, made 5 visits to office to get key to work, staff very mean and unhelpful. Breakfast all power went out and could not get anything, what a mess

Not worth it

I booked the hotel based on the amenities i.e. allows pets (so we could bring our dog) and had wireless in the room. Plus the price wasn't bad either. We asked for late check in and late check out as we weren't going to be there until after 9pm due to travel and would need to get the kids ready in the morning and our oldest is special needs. We checked in and were told no problem on the late check out and proceeded to our room. Went to sleep to the sounds of the neighboring room's tv. In the morning around 8am housekeeping in the other rooms were so loud that there was no point in trying to catch anymore sleep so we got up and started getting the kids ready. While the kids were getting ready for a bath I realized their feet were completely black from walking barefoot on the carpet. That is disgusting. I gave them a bath and made them wear their shoes inside so they wouldn't touch the floor. We couldn't even let our 3 year old play with her toys on the floor while we got ready because it was so dirty. They sent housekeeping to our room twice asking when we were leaving and then the front desk called to tell us we had to leave even after I explained we were told late check out was ok and that I had a special needs child. She said it doesn't matter what the night clerk had told me, they needed the room and we had to leave. (We were only there 1.5 hours past checkout and were told the night before we were going to be allowed 2 hours past check out.) Needless to say we will not be staying here, or with this chain of hotels ever again. Not only is the staff rude but not special needs family friendly and the carpet appears to be clean until you walk barefoot on it.

Food and Starbucks are across the street from the hotel. One of the only redeeming qualities.
