Not bad

The hotel, overall, is quite nice. Our room was showing age and was rather small for the price. But the staff was great, as was the breakfast buffet.

Nice Place on Half Price Deal

I stayed here on a half-price deal during Tahoe's off-season - Squaw had recently opened but very little was opened, I have a season pass, and wanted to ski a few runs. - The overall amenities were in line with my expectations for what I paid, not really with full price. Clean comfortable room, refrig, wifi - hot tub if I request. Three star, basically. - The setting is quite nice, secluded and quiet. - I arrived early, my room wasn't ready but the staff offered to check me in and call me on cell when the room was ready, they did so promptly. It had snowed and continued to snow-shower overnight, the drive and walkways were kept as clear as I could expect given the temperature (it was too cold for salt to be very effective, though they applied it anyway) - The included breakfast was quite nice. Recommending enthusiastically based on the deal I got, not so much based on normal pricing.

Traveler Beware !

I have been there twice, first time was conference which went Okay, and then, I went back few months later, again with a small business group of 7 people, and had really bad experience with Resort front desk Manager Max Castellon. He was the one made reservation for our lodging. We bought Stay and play package which included vouchers for 2 activities ( total value around $700 ) , at time of the reservation, and I specifically asked for the tree top adventure park activity and on the phone he said there is only one opening left for that, and I confirmed on the phone to book it for us. Later, he also sent in an email asking if we would like to book the Tree Top Adventure , and 2nd time, I responded with email in writing ask him to book it. ( I have the email to approve it ) The night we arrived at the resort, when I saw him, once again 3rd time I checked if it was booked, he said no worries that he will take care of it which I have a witness of the conversation. On the day of the supposed reservation, it was the last activity we planned before we go back home, it turned out he completely forgot about it, as result, we are not able to use our voucher to attending this activities ( Voucher is valued at $ 45 x 7 = $315 of total ) When we went to front desk to question him that, he flatly denied any email from me nor had conversation to confirm the reservation despite we have the written proof and witness of the conversation. He was very rude, difficult, and refuse to admit any negligent on his part, lie thru his teeth, refused to work us in anyway. The two days of stay cost us $ 1750.00 which supposed to including the $ 315 voucher, but because of him we are unable to do so. It also put such bad ending taste in a suppose a pleasure trip. And I will not go back for sure, and will not recommend to others. The resort self is okay, we stayed at one of their 3 bedroom townhouse, which is quite old and outdated, but it is function, and clean. Travelers beware of the front desk manager. If you are going there, make sure you not trust his words, make sure you personally book all reservations by yourself even he offers to do it for you repeatedly.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Great places to eat by the lake in Tahoe City. Jake's on the lakefront is awesome! A tad expensive but great food!

I would stay there again. Rooms are not perfect; furniture is outdated, but good enough for family with kids. Great location!

Wedding in the forest

Hotel room was close to very good, no chairs to set in and read, light was also bad. Room was a very good valve compared to what the wedding party got for their dollar. Nice and peaceful with a great breakfast (better than the best hotels). Would book again with Orbitz Phyllis
