With a one-of-a-kind location on the pristine West Shore of Lake Tahoe, Sunnyside Restaurant and Lodge brings classic lodge ambiance to great dining and inviting guestrooms overlooking the lake. This incomparable combination has made it a year-round destination for celebrating the Tahoe lifestyle. The 23 mountain inspired lodge rooms are inviting places to sink into after the day's activities. Goose-down pillows and comforters are cozy touches, and private patios and decks mean relaxation is just steps away. Guests enjoy a complimentary hearty continental breakfast and afternoon tea overlooking the Lake. In addition, Sunnyside offers two dining options: the Lakeside Dining Room, serving new American cooking with a focus on fresh seafood and premium steaks complemented by an award winning wine list. The Mountain Grill serves casual fare in a lively ambience. The two restaurants share Tahoe's largest lakefront deck, the center of the West Shore's social scene and the place to be on the Lake for over 25 years. The adjoining marina offers valet boat parking, fuel dock, powerboat, wave runner and stand up paddle rentals, waterski lessons and more. Sunnyside offers a unique destination for corporate retreats and destination weddings while offering great values for guests of all types throughout the year.

Dining

The Lakeside Dining Room offering panoramic views of the lake, features new American cooking - fresh, vibrant presentations of American classics with a focus on premium seafood and steaks. The award winning wine list has been carefully selected to complement the menu and offers a wide variety of wines including some rare & limited offerings. The Mountain Grill overlooking Lake Tahoe offers a more casual menu serving dinner year-round and lunch during the summer. Dine indoors or on the expansive deck. Favorites include: Crispy Zucchini Sticks, Sunnyside's Famous Fish Tacos, Cheeseburger

Meeting Facilities

Classic lodge ambiance, an incomparable setting and personalized service make Sunnyside the perfect choice when you are scheduling off-site meetings and company retreats in the Lake Tahoe area. Sunnyside offers everything your group of up to 30 needs for a successful meeting, from a venue overlooking Lake Tahoe to audio-visual equipment and wireless Internet access. Lake Tahoe's beautiful, natural surroundings take guests away from all the distractions back at the office, yet you will also find that Sunnyside is just minutes away from all the activities the area has to offer. A variety of meeting programs that incorporate outdoor activities to inspire productivity and teamwork are available. During the high season months of July and August groups cannot be accommodated. Please be advised: All rooms do not have air conditioning. During Summer Sunnyside is NOT a nice quiet getaway, it is the social center of the West Shore. The partial view rooms can be impacted by the Sunnyside Marina that operates a fork lift, the High Sierra Water Ski School and Boat Rentals, and the parking lot that is adjacent to that wing of the hotel.

Disappoints

The first two nights we stayed it was very noisy. They decided to clean kitchen hood right below our room. Our dinner was not very good. We paid over a $100.00 for 3 scallops and the menu said it was a half of chicken and it looked like a small Cornish hen leg. It didn't taste good at all. The scallops were raw inside.

Very beautiful location

i stayed in this hotel for a night and it was a very good experience. We were served cookies and juice when we arrived and the view of the lake from the room was very beautiful. The room was very clean. Breakfast was served in a small but cozy place facing the lake. Overall the experience was wonderful... but we had to pay a huge price for it.

2nd stay, well worth it!

Charming setting, staff is ALWAYS helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Continental breakfast is outstanding, location is great, price is right, we love the place! Bar & restaurant onsite made dining convenient. There is a casual restaurant at the bar, and an upscale restaurant next to it. Guest rooms are located in the lodge upstairs form the lobby/main floor. Lake view is stunning.

Wednesday is Fish Taco Night! A popular promotion. All fish tacos are half price. And they are HUGE. Guests, as well as locals, enjoy this popular event every Wednesday. (Good way to fill-up on the cheap, and save your pennies for a fancy dinner on another night!)

Just what I expected

I often stop here and have a couple drinks after skiing, but had never stayed. It was very nice. Clean, good food and a very friendly staff. Watching the sunset was great. The decor is a little dated, but it is Tahoe.

Nice Lodge

Nice lodge and a great location. Walls were a bit thin and a lot of uncontrolled kids running around, so it was noisy. Restaurant was pricey and fair. The bar was a great place for apres ski. Rooms were fairly basic and clean. The front desk and other customer services were very good.

Lakeside find

This was a nice full service hotel, a great place to stay for a ski holiday. I think almost all rooms have lakeviews, and the whole place has a ski lodge feel. We wold definitely stay again.

So happy, we keep coming back!

Picturesque location, great staff! Being so close to Christmas, the Lodge wasn't crowded. We arrived early, and they let us check in. The fine dining restaurant on the premises did not disappoint. The bar area does a Wednesday night Fish Taco Special that attracts guests and locals alike. Don't miss it! Tacos as big as your head!

Take advantage of the lovely breakfast offerings in the guests only upstairs lounge area. Beautiful view of the Lake! Eat there and mingle with other guests, or take food & beverages back to your room.
