ok
This is a motel, not a hotel. the location was good for me. A no frills room but everything worked. Small fridge, microwave, free Internet. I had another employee with me and his room had mold on the ceiling. It was above the sink on the ceiling, probably due to a leaky sink or toilet in the room above. There is a Denny's in the same parking lot which was convenient. If you're looking for inexpensive with no frills this works.

Sunnyvale July 2011
The Vagabond Inn Sunnyvale is conveniently located next to 101, a Shell station, 3 restaurants and is only a 3-4 minutes from downtown. The rooms were clean and featured large flatscreen TVs. My only complaint was that the bed was as hard as a brick and did not provide for a good night's sleep.

The hotel is basic and clean. It was quite good, pretty close to 101 but still silent inside. The breakfast was pretty bad. There was no milk either, just creamer. It provides basic clean accommodation.

Good motel in Sunnyvale
I stayed three nights at the Vagabond Inn in Sunnyvale, California. It's right next to the 101 freeway, which was really convenient. The room was clean and comfortable and despite being near the freeway was fairly quiet. the staff was also very friendly. If you need a place to stay in the Silicon Valley I would definitely recommend it.

Just fine!
The hotel was great. I just wanted somewhere to crash and access wifi, and it was perfect for both. The hotel is right off the freeway, so very easy and quick to get to. The close proximity to the freeway was no problem (no noise). The gut at check in was very nice and helpful. The wifi worked fine. The only problem was that the alarm clock reset to 8:00 am sometime during the night (I had it set to 6:45, so I had to rush!) but it may just take more examination to figure out how to set it to avoid this problem. I didn't get to try the breakfast, thanks to the alarm, but if you just want somewhere comfortable, with internet and food/coffee in the morning it is great! It was only $63 plus taxes for the night so it was a good value, just as I had expected. Recommended!

Great deal for the area
Stayed there due to it's proximity to job activities. It's only 5 minutes from several excellent restaurants in downtown Sunnyvale, and access to 101 is a cinch. Next door is Hobees Restaurant which serves a terrific breakfast (Denny's is also next door). The TV channel offering is extensive, though the room I was given this time didn't have a flatscreen. My only complaint is that the lobby smelled strongly of curry (which I've found is common in small hotels in the Bay Area). The rooms, though clean, updated and comfortable, allow noise to pass through with ease...every movement made next door or above me was noticeable. Management was very nice and accommodating.

Good for the money
We stayed at the Vagabond because we needed to be in a location close to the San Jose Airport. Definitely could've found a closer hotel, as the taxi fee was $27.00, but for the price we paid, the hotel had everything we needed. Very clean, had internet and cable. Front desk staff were very friendly. They actually let us check in four hours early because we had a time conflict with our rental car return. Only complaint would be that the continental breakfast didn't have much to offer, and there really isn't anything to do in the San Jose area.

Short drive from hotel
If your looking for a place to eat, I would recommend either taking a short ride or about a half hour walk (this is what we did) down to Murphy's Historic Avenue (or something along that line) - this was actually the only place we could find a good bite to eat.

Great Value for the price
I stayed here for two nights and it was a wonderful stay. The staffs were very friendly in general and also upgraded my room type for no extra price. The room was very clean and quiet. And if you want to grab a late night bite, Danny's is there next door. One thing I would suggest though, they should keep a better quality shampoo:) but again I am a brand conscious guy:). I am a frequent commuter to Sunnyvale for my work, 2-3 days every week and I would say I have found a place near my office at a great price where I will come back again n again.
