Comfort Inn & Suites San Francisco Airport North

As you might expect the Comfort Inn Suites is nothing too get very excited about, but it served it's purpose just fine. I had a 30 hour layover in SF and needed a bed, shower and a few hours of TV. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was OK; close to the airport (there is a free shuttle), but pretty far from any restaurants, etc. I had a pizza delivered. For the price (it was inexpensive) it was adequate, but only for a layover such as mine.

Short visit. Pleasant staff. Parking was good. I believe this is an. Ok location.

The psoitive: comfortable bed, plenty of parking, great breakfast included in room rate; convenient to the SFO airport & car rental return and Rte 101 to San Francisco. The less positive: they now charge you for parking. TV worked for 5 days, but didn't on last day & their promise to send someone over to check on it was not fulfilled. Room temperature difficult to control. The negative: rooms on the west side have to put up with railroad train noise from before 7 am in the morning to nearly 10 pm in the evening.

Between the highway traffic, passing trains, and incessant door-slamming of other guests throughout the night, this was the loudest hotel experience I've ever had. I'll never stay here again. That said, the staff was very nice and the room was clean. If you can handle the noise and you need proximity to the airport, Comfort Inn is a good deal.

Unfortunately although this hotel has clearly had some renovations it is old. The bathroom was nicely updated, but the furniture in the room should have been replaced long ago. The room smelled musty and was generally not pleasant. The hotel is located in an industrial area, and although I was able to walk to a small village 10 minutes away, the walk was a bit scary for a woman alone. In general this hotel does not meet the standards I have become used to from Comfort Suites.

Hotel shuttle came around within minutes of my arrival at the pickup station and driver was courteous. Front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. Room was surprisingly large, clean with microwave, coffee maker, ironing board. Would definitely stay again. Hotel is next to busy freeway so be sure to ask for room away from traffic noise !

Very close to Trains! Must run a/c fan on high to begin drowning out the noise.Bring earplugs.

The room was clean and quiet, the bed combortable. The hotel was hard to find because of the convoluted street patterns of South SF. My stay was pleasant and met my needs.

Pluses - Free shuttle. Close to CalTrain, which intails walking up a huge flight of steep stairs, crossing a dangerous street and then walking another 5-10 minutes to the hotel, depending on if you want to walk through dirt of not. There is a microwave and fridge, both of which worked in my room. Bed had five pillows, though a bit stiff. Negatives - Noise maker, I mean, Air Conditioner 'cools' the room to barely warmer than outside. Have to hold down the toilet handle to make it flush. Non-smoking room still stank of suicide, I mean, cigarettes. TV is small and outdated. No paper to write on. free internet is pointless as it's agonizingly slow. Door was so heavy it was nearly impossible to close without slamming. Could potentially kill a small child or someone's pet poodle. Could very easily hear the goings-on in the neighbors room. Also, it's called a suite and separate rooms, but more like a normal hotel room that's slightly larger with a couch, fridge and microwave. Hardly a suite at all, and there is nothing separate about the rooms.

The room at the comfort suites was fine, but there was no restaurant on site nor within walking distance. It is not a place to stay without a car. The shuttle was a good way to get to the airport, but if I had to use the property again, it would only after having dinner somewhere else.
