Perfect location & great for pets

The positives: Amazing location, room was very clean, Starbucks coffee in room to brew in the morning, all employees were very kind & welcoming, free parking & the best part was how accommodating this place is for pets. Will def come back. Drawbacks: the widescreen TV isn't high definition. Would've tried the restaurant on the pier but the yelp reviews were so consistently terrible, I couldn't chance it.

Beautiful, peaceful location - terrific value

I've stayed here 3 times now, and I will keep coming back. The location is PERFECT. Paying a litlte extra for the lakeview room is totally worth it. I only wish there were microwaves in the rooms. Other than that it is a fantastic place to stay.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The safeway across the street has a great deli - lots of good "take-out" options -- plus it has a Starbucks! Great for eating on a budget. Why pay $$$ for "lake side dining" when you can take bfast/lunch/dinner back to your room and eat on the deck?!

Great place at a great location

Really liked this place. The location is amazing. Driving around Lake Tahoe and then coming here you will notice that water is not the "Tahoe Blue" on the shore as you would expect but it is very clean and shallow enough that you can actually walk in the water for a good 150 meters or so. The onsite restaurant is great and if you need more options, you can easily walk to those. If you like water sports, the place has you covered.

Expensive but on the Lake

Stayed here for a Sat night. The two things this place has going on for it is 1) its pet friendly and 2) its on the lake. So if you want a vacation with your pet and want to jump in the lake this is A+; however, if you want to go to the casino, its not a great place. Oh, and the staff at the boathouse are super-rude. I got something 'to go' and got a nasty - NO TIP?!! comment while leaving.

NIce view

The hotel is noon smoking that is a plus for me because of asthma. We upgraded to a beachfront view which was great. The room was very clean, small but efficient. When we walked in, it smelled fresh, not musty or old. The carpet was clean the linens you could see everything gets washed/changed for each guest. The grounds are clean. The staff was great except for the restaurant staff who never acknowledged us standing there, we looked at the menu and walked out, over priced for bacon and eggs. But overall a great experience. A little too overpriced to not serve a complimentary breakfast though.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Just bring your walking shoes, there is a lot within walking distance if that is your thing and dress weather appropriate You can always remove layers if need be. Hot in the day and cool nights currently.

Right hotel, wrong staff.

We were greeted in the parking lot by someone who looked like a valet, we were surprised when he said with a stern tone, "what are you doing here?" I replied that we were checking in and he gave me incomplete direction on how to do so. Then, the front desk staff was unprofessional and condescending. Not a good way start a visit. The hotel overall was nice, the bed was comfortable, the TV was a nice addition, and the lake view was great. I was disappointed in the morning when I ran out of hot water 2 minutes into my shower. Rather than deal with the staff, I toughed it out. I attempted to check out via the telephone and after waiting on hold for 20 minutes I walked down to the front desk where I found the staff goofing off which each other. That's why I was on hold? I would not stay here again.

good location

Hotel is fine, but little bit expensive. The lake water at this part of south Lake Tahoe is little bit polluted and the beach is not as clean as other places.
