Cozy, homey, comfy

Nice family place and for skiers who want to escape the noise and hustle of the Tahoe south shore. In the woods, on the lake, just 5 minutes away from it all. Lovely big recreational room with a fireplace, couches, and big screen tv for a place to hang out out of the room. Simple, very adequate room too.

Weekend getaway

The best part about staying at Camp Richardson is its location to ski resorts and restaurants. It is best suited for families that will spend the majority of the trip outside the hotel room. My wife and I enjoyed our trip, but there are a few pieces of information that should be known before staying there: 1) Bring extra blankets in the wintertime. A fee is charged for requesting towels, linens, and blankets from the front office. 2) Only one car permit is given per room. A fee is charged for a second car permit. 3) There is a fee charged for wireless internet. 4) Bring board games if you want something to do in the evening. Although we were not sedentary during the trip, our room, as well as many others, had no television.

end of ski season-- best time to book

We were the only guests staying in the lodge. Staff friendly and helpful! The lodge was old so we heard pipes creaking and made up ghost stories to freak out kid-- good fun!

Family getaway

We stayed at Richardson's for two nights for the ski trip. We arrived the hotel pretty late around 11pm. To get in we need to use the phone to get the locker code to retrieve the key inside the locker. The room is clean, small (cozy) and with wood ascent. There is no TV phone inside the room, which is perfect for us.

Beachside Inn is spacious

This time we stayed at the Beachside Inn at Camp Richardson. This room is much more spacious than the ones in the hotel. There is a fridge, a table with two chairs, a Satellite TV (14" very small one) in it. The room is clean, towels are clean too. The shower knob is hard to control, as it can go from hot to cold in a matter of a small turn. We don't like the alarm clock, it's cheaper than the dollar store ones. The staff is friendly as usual. We arrived late, I called in to get the combination code for the lock box. It took us quite a while to open the lock box to get the key.

Unique amidst tacky casino/ski resorts!

This hotel is great for the star level and price. It has a great atmosphere... down-to-earth, clean, warm, and you get to meet people who actually lead active lives and appreciate nature, not spoiled city folks who come to Tahoe just to snowboard and gamble. Has a general store, restaurant, gear rental shop, an outdoor hot tub, a large fireplace, just an awesome place. Nothing fancy, and the staff is not available off-hours, but so much better than all the tacky resorts you see around Tahoe.

Quaint feel, good price

Staff was very helpful from the moment we got in after hours during a bad storm to restaurant recommendations to checkout. Resort was away from the glitz of South Lake Tahoe - some may like it, some may prefer to be closer to the nightlife. Nice fireplace in the common area to warm up at. Our 2-doubles room had very limited space for 4 adults and baggage, but was clean. Towels could have been plusher, but it's not like I'm paying for 5-star accommodations here.

cant beat the location

Perfect Spot - a stone's throw from Lake Tahoe, you can literally hear waves at night. Great x country skiing nearby - friendy restaurant staff. Good for a quick trip or longer.
