Great hotel in a great location.

The hotel was great for experiencing all the natural beauty of South Lake Tahoe, the lake itself is only a short walk from the main lobby building. Staff was very nice and very helpful, will definitely be coming back!

Great for a Ski Trip

I spent the night here on a Saturday during ski season after driving up to the slopes that morning. It's a short drive from the South Lake resorts, and about 45 minutes from Kirkwood. This place has everything you need to recover and be ready to ski the next morning without breaking the bank. They have an outdoor hot tub that's great for your legs after a day on the mountain. The rooms aren't too huge, just big enough for a queen bed, plus a bathroom with a shower. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. There wasn't a fridge or a tv in our room, but since I just needed a comfortable place to sleep that didn't matter.

Room too small, and noisy in night.

Room too small, and noisy in night from upstairs. No TV, no refrigerate in room. No microwave in whole hotel, it's not convent for family with kids. We see "Free continental breakfast" when made reservation online, but only get coupons when check-in, and only can be used on opposite street store. Actually it's useless for us, the breakfast start on 8:00AM. The Free internet is very slow, and very week WiFi signal in room.

Camp Richardson Hotel

Let me first start by saying that the staff here is super friendly and helpful. The location is in my opinion, better than most places. The hotel is a short walk from the lake and did not feel crowded like other places! The hotel is beautiful, cozy and clean. My only problem was how hot the rooms were at night (with the heater turned off). I had to sleep nearly naked and without any blankets to fall asleep. The Beacon Bar and Grill had fantastic food for the prize. We went there twice and everyone raved about their food. Staff was very friendly here as well. I will most likely come back in the future.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

If you don't eat in the hotel's restaurant, you'll have to drive to south lake tahoe where all the restaurants are. We ordered pizza from the nearest Blue Dog Pizza (it was very good!) late at night as they were the only ones we could find that would deliver the pizza to our hotel.

Awesome stay for winter getaway

We stayed here overnight before a day on the ski slopes. Our rooms were attached to the main hotel (not individual cabins). No refrigerator or TVs in the rooms we were in. Nice outdoor hot tub (great during winter time). Winter rates are much cheaper than summer rates, which makes this place a great value for winter getaways. Also there's less people during the winter so there's less commotion to deal with. Friendly staff and the lounge was a great place to hang out at night.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

It's a bit far from South Tahoe city so you'll have to drive a bit to find good eats (at least 2 miles).
