South Lake Tahoe's Basecamp is a new hotel that was built for exploring the incredible lakes, trails and mountains that the Lake Tahoe Basin has to offer. Basecamp is more than just a place to stay; it is a community and knowledge base that will help you discover everything that Tahoe has to offer. Stay in one of the 50 stylish rooms and enjoy things like a place to lock your bike and all the bike tools you could need to get back on the trails; store your skis/snowboards for the night, and then use the bench to tune and wax. Relax after a long day in the great outdoors at one of the firepits or the rooftop hot tub. Some rooms are pet-friendly, too, so check if there's room for your favorite furry one. Basecamp is located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, a short four-minute walk to the lake, and an even shorter four-minute walk to the Heavenly Gondola. If you are inclined to explore the casinos, the hotel is located next door to Harvey's/Harrahs. At Basecamp, you'll find the charm and community feel of a ski house while enjoying the comfort and amenities of a boutique hotel. There is no better base from which to explore the area with or without your car.

The hotel serves the Lake Tahoe, Reno, Carson City, Sacramento, and San Francisco areas. The hotel also offers free breakfast. Pet fee is $40 per night.

Family Trip

We stayed in the family room with two double and two twin beds. Great room and a good value for sleeping 6. My only complaint with this hotel is the breakfast room is too small and crowded.

Great location

Great location. Right across the street from the casinos. Two blocks from heavenly village, shopping, the lake, and the heavenly lift. Rooms were clean and new appliances no fridge just an ice chest so plan ahead. Staff was very helpful. We will be returning!

Tahoe gem

My husband and I came to Tahoe to enjoy the cool weather, amazing scenery, and casino fun. Basecamp is in such a great location being the heart of south shore: close to great food, the casinos, and the wonderful heavenly gondola. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about local hiking areas. The breakfast was simple but enjoyable. The spa and the fire pit were both a lovely asset to the competitively priced hotel. We will definitely return.

family visit

I love the aesthetic of this hotel. Spare, stylish and fun. Having said that, there were a few things they could do better. Two pillows on a king bed was scrawny. No hand soap except in the shower was inconvenient. The bed was softer than I prefer. The plusses? Pretty good continental breakfast with very good coffee. Yay for real coffee!! Enjoyed our balcony with our room and used it a lot, even with the enormous construction site next door...Enjoyed the beach at the end of the road along with the beach pass. Nice touch. We'll probably stay there again. Thanks!

Love Basecamp!!

This was the most fun place to stay. Loved the theme of The Great Outdoors! The staff was wonderful, the decor was creative, and the breakfast was lovely. Can't wait to go back. Although I didn't see recycling bins and all trash went together-that would seem to go with the theme. The staff was very knowledgable about areas to hike or climb. Wished we had one or two more days there.

nightmare!!

This hotel is not as nice as it looks in the picture. It is extremely over priced compared to other places close by. They have no air conditioning on the property at all. They claim it never gets above 80 so they don't need them. It was 84 when we were there and the room was so hot that we couldnt even breathe good. The room is decorated in a contemporary style but its nothing special. Also, if you need to call the front desk, you have to use your own phone because the phone in the room was not working. If your a tv person, they only offer around 10 channels. We were extremely disappointed with our stay and we will not be back.
