We're skiers and wanted to be a 5-min. drive to Heavenly so this fit the bill. Tight quarters but lake view, gas fireplace, terrace and cleanliness more than offset. Heated outdoor pool was occupied by too many fair-feathered friends, which made for interesting pictures, but probably not very sanitary. CVS and Safeway 5-min. walk.

South Lake Tahoe
I have stayed here many times. The breakfast is above par. This time, the desk staff was not very happy, for whatever reason.

Homey, clean, and new
The sweetest thing about the room is the fireplace set in the center, with honey colored woodwork. Artwork on the walls is not the standard hotel fare, but unique and lovely. The full glass wall doors leading to the lake gave us a view of pink-splashed moountains in the morning. Add to this helpful and pleasant staff, and you've got a winning combination.

You might want to choose another place to eat besides the restaurant on the nearby pier. Pricey, with trendy-sounding menu, but disappointing food, although wait staff is good.

Nice size room with balcony when upstairs and patios on ground floor. Excellant location, just 100 feet from the lake and close to places to eat.

disappointed
could have been better
Requested a disabled accessible room, didn't get it. Had to use the patio sliding door for access, then travel across a wet lawn 30-40 yards to get to a pathway. We were their only one night so we made do. The room was small enough, but was made worse having a scooter taking up space. Check in and check out were complicated because the computer system was down for four days.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
We wanted to try the motels Blue Water Bistro. The restaurant is located on a pier over Lake Tahoe and the menu looked good, although a little pricey. Unfortunately the kitchen is down stairs with no accessible dining upstairs. The only accessible seating is at picnic tables on the pier. With thunder showers going on,this was not acceptable.

Comfortable
The hotel was on the lower price side, so I did not expect much. But I was pleased to find a comfortable, clean and even good looking room. The staff was competent, there was a nice hot tub outside and the hotel is by a gorgeous lake beach, with a pier and a restaurant with a gorgeous view. The continental breakfast was good enough, with fruit, bread, juice, boiled eggs and waffles. There is a CVS pharmacy next door and a Safeway across the street, which is really convenient for last minute purchases and even food (Safeway has some good warm dishes if you don't want to eat out). The Heavenly shuttle stops right in front of the hotel. The one thing I wish it had was a fridge in the room. This may have been my fault though, as I believe it was part of the options when selecting a room. Overall I am glad we took this hotel, which kept us comfortable without making us spending too much.
