Good location

We stayed here for a short family summer trip. I was hopeful but disappointed. I felt like every room I walked by and saw inside was updated except our room. The carpet and bedding were very old. Other then that the room was clean except for the two pincher bugs on our bedding when we came back on day one. There was a gap under the door so I assume they came in through that. The remote to the TV didn't work. And the girl at the front desk was not very knowledgeable of questions about surrounding activities. Nice location and walking distance to plenty of stuff. But we won't be staying here again.

Fun and dog friendly

We stayed 2 nights in two different rooms, me, my boyfriend and our dog (the hotel is dog friendly, a pet fee of $25/ day, but worth it) The first night we were in the deluxe king. The room was pretty small, uncomfortable bed and bedsheets, heater was not warm enough, bathroom was small, but it did have a fireplace. Luckily on the second night the poolside suite became available, we quickly transferred over and we were SO glad we did! The deluxe king compared to the poolside suite is a night and day difference. Being in the poolside suite felt like I was in a cool little boutique-y hotel. So much more updated! The bed and pillows were so much more comfortable, no fireplace but instead a hot tub in the room ) Overall I had a pretty good experience, but only because we did get to transfer to a better room. I'm looking forward to coming back in the summer!

Dog Friendly

3 Peaks was great for traveling with our dogs. We could walk to numerous locations to eat, walk to the lake, etc. The beach associated with the hotel is not dog friendly, that was a disappointment. Overall, it was a decent place and I would stay there again with or without pets. (The gambling was at Harvey's was a disappointment, though!)

Weekend Getaway

Hotel was a few blocks away from major hotels, yet within walking distance and very comfortable for the price. Nice heated jacuzzi that stayed open until 11pm even during a slow flurry!

Umexpectedly nice

I booked this very cheap, so I wasn't expecting much. After staying in hostels for the last few weeks, I came here to find a very spacious bungalow, with it's own jacuzzi. It was definetly an upgrade from what I was used to.

Awesome First Trip to Tahoe!

This was my first trip to South Lake Tahoe with my girlfriend to enjoy the slopes. We booked a great deal at this hotel for the standard unit. Upon our arrival around 2:00 am, we called the operator who provided us a pin number for the lockbox outside the Lobby. We were not aware that the manager Gary Jones had given us a complimentary upgrade to a suite! The room was fantastic! Separate bedroom, shower with separate hot tub, kitchen, fire place, and pullout sofa bed which came in handy when a friend joined us from Las Vegas. Couldn't have asked for more! The staff was extremely friendly - Stephen at the front desk assisted us regularly and made sure we had a memorable experience. We'll definitely be coming back in the future trips! Service and quality were excellent.

Weekend trip

This was our first time visiting Lake Tahoe. The staff was very helpful, and the location of the hotel was perfect. The hotel was in walking distance to restaurants, the casinos, heavenly gondolas, and the lake. The only negative comment I have is that room we were in was somewhat outdated ( bedding comforter, bathtub was older, hot/cold water temp was sensitive) but the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, we had a great stay!

Shower is dangerous because of no scald protection

Basic, rustic, clean overpriced, but for Tahoe on a winter weekend, probably not out of line. Problem was in showering. NO working scald protection -- meaning temperature would and did constantly swing 40 to 50 degrees within a second or so, depending, presumably, on what a neighboring room was doing with its sink, toilet or shower. If my wife and I hadn't been able to react fast, stepping out of the spray, we would have been burned. When I reported this, the reaction was matter-of-fact, as though it wasn't much of a problem. I was finally offered the email address of the owner -- but no discount or other consideration. Will be reporting to the proper State of California agency.
