Great weekend!

My wife and I stayed here for our 1 yr anniversary and the rooms were nice and comfortable, everyone was very nice and helpfull, and the location is great. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because the room service was not that great.

Another great stay

My wife and I have stayed at The Lodge three times in the past year. Each time, we have had a great stay. The location is close to the Sonoma square. The facilities are pretty standard, but the rooms are comfortable and the service has been excellent.

great value - a little far from Napa

hotel was great - clean, friendly, good restaurant and a good value. Doesn't have the atmosphere of the Napa or downtown Sonoma hotels and it's a little far from the wineries in Napa.

a little out of the way for Napa, but if you don't mind a 15 minute drive to the wineries, it's a great value.

Good hotel, odd location

As Renaissance Resorts goes, this is par for course - well maintain, and well equipped rooms, grounds, hotel. So it was a pleasant experience, and a comfortable one at that - the fireplace in the room on a cold winter's night was nice! The one drawback to this hotel is its location - on the outskirt of the main area of town, not too far, but far enough not to be able to walk downtown, backing up to a residential area, kind of in the middle of "nowhere" - the location detracts from the "niceness" of the hotel. If the surroundings were more "picturesque", it would have significantly contributed to the stay. But it wasnt bad or anything - just not on par with the rest of the standard that the hotel has set for itself.

Nice hotel in an ordinary setting

The hotel is as good as Marriot's Resorts standards goes. The grounds and facilities were good and nicely kept. We had a cottage room and it was spacious, with a nice fireplace, and the furnishing was well kept. All in all, a decent hotel for the price one pays - the one feedback I would provide is that it is located off the main road into Sonoma, backing up to a residential area - nothing noisy or bad about it - just that for a "Resort", it is kind of located in an "ordinary" setting. Other than that, once inside the hotel, it's ok - I would rate it 3.5 stars all things considered.

La Salette is a nice Fusion Portugese restaurant about a mile from the hotel - nice cosy restaurant on a cold winter's night. The Girl and the Fig is somewhat over rated in my opinion, but others may differ.

Expensive

The overall experience was good but not at par with the price. For the same rate I had far better experiences. For example, although we stayed there 2 nights, they didn't clean our room even once during our stay. They could also benefit from adding wireless internet.

Great Girl's Getaway

My sisters and I spent a girl's week at this hotel and it was fantastic. Our room was great with a fireplace and a sitting area. Also had morning coffee and evening wine on our outside patio. We ate at the restaurant twice (sitting where you can watch the cooks and visit with them). Great fun! Then also visited with the wine steward and had an awesome time. The managers and staff were always available and exceeded anything that we asked them to help us with. (Went to a winery for a food/wine pairing and they called ahead and we got special treatment). The pool/bar area was great--even has outside fire area. One sister had the wine she bought at various wineries sent to her home by leaving it at the front desk. They took care of everything and she got it within a few days. Just an awesome getaway! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Ask hotel staff. One day we did a driving tour and they recommended places to eat where we could see the sunset.

Inn At Sonoma

Very nice hotel. Pool was great and the grounds around the cottages were beautiful. Our room was in the new building. Room was the perfact size and well appointed. It did face Broadway which is a busy street, but we did not hear the traffic at all. We spent most of our time exploring wine country and half a day enjoying the pool at the hotel, so the room location fit us well.

The Sunflower Cafe off the square in Sonoma is a Must. Great court yard to enjoy a glass of wine and they have great dinner options. Also, plan your trip around the Tuesday night Farmers Market in Sonoma, great experiance!
