Anniversery Getaway
My husband and I usually stay in Calistoga but we were unable to get a reservation at the place we always stay. I looked on the web to find a location similar to the pace we liked in Calistoga and found the MacArther inn and spa. No disapointment at all. Loved the location, The grounds reminded me of a country estate. The staff was VERY friendly. Loved the pool and spa. Wonderful but simple continental breakfast. They even have the most current dvd for use

Charming inn
MacArthur Place fulfilled all my expectations and hopes for a cozy, friendly, lovely inn. The room was large, clean, comfortable. The staff was wonderful and helpful in planning our day. Their suggestions were excellent. We enjoyed the wine and cheese afternoons in the library with a big fireplace. We met some lovely couples. The breakfasts were very nice (complimentary) and we had a wonderful dinner in Saddles rest. on the property. It's a nice walk into the square of Sonoma. We will definitely stay there again.

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
The hotel has coupons for wine tasting at many of the local wineries. Some were free, and some were 2 for 1.

Great stay
Aside from all the amenities one would expect from a place like this, it was notable that the front desk staff (2 young men) were both very helpful.

Great staff
We just stayed one night, but the room was great. very spacious. The one thing that stood out in my mind was the reception desk staff. He was very thorough and you felt that he wanted to make sure that everything was taken care of during your stay. I would go there again with no hesitation.

Sensational Sonoma!
This hotel had OUTSTANDING customer service! JT at the front desk was fun, knowledgeable and very accommodating. The continental breakfast was delicious and allowed for sleeping in and returning back to bed to relax prior to checking out. If you are looking for a weekend getaway stay at MacArthur Place!

Wonderful place to stay
This charming hotel is located very centrally near the Sonoma Square. Although it was too far for us to comfortably walk to dinner, there was plenty of parking at the square both during the day and night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was disappointed in the wine and cheese reception--I thought the wine was not good. We would gladly recommend this hotel to our friends.

Sonoma Trip
I think things started badly when our reservation was mysteriously canceled and had to be reopened by a phone call from [...]. Being an ex resort general manager I found they need a few lessons in hospitality. Maybe that's because they are an independant and don't have the standards of some upscale chains. The property itself was very nice and the spa was terrific.

A wonderful getaway
I felt much better about paying a ton of money to hear upon arrival that the room was "upgraded" to a deluxe king. The room and hotel grounds were splendid, as was the complementary continental breakfast. My girlfriend loved all the counterspace in the bathroom. I did read a comment in their guest book from a guest who thought their room by the main drag was very noisy so you might want to make sure your room is away from that.

Staff was very helpful, Room was beautiful and well appointed. Grounds were picturesque (many guests were taking photos of the beautiful plants and areas). Bed was very nice. A great get away! My only complaint is we only did a 1 hour massage!
