Top of the class in wine country for hot springs
Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa is a grand world-class wine country retreat atop a natural artesian hot spring. Restorative healing mineral pools, a private golf course and the renowned Sante restaurant are highlights. A massive architecturally accurate replica of a Spanish mission houses 226 rooms. Simply Wonderful

This place was better than I thought it would be! Simply luxurious. The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The spa is the best kept secret - I would drive from San Francisco for a day trip JUST to go there. Thank you!

Relaxed, elegant & perfect for us

The Fairmont in Sonoma is an absolutely wonderful place to spend a long weekend - especially over the holidays! My parents came to visit for Thanksgiving and we went up to the wine country. It could not have been more perfect. The festive mood was infectious. We absolutely loved the bustle and energy in the big *Living Room* - where we saw little girls in their favorite outfits (Snow White princess ballgown and sparkly dresses), family dogs, and grandparents mingling. The natural mineral water pools (spa) are also not to be missed. My dad wishes 38 North had a bigger TV for us to watch football. We will definitely be back again when the weather warms up! Extra thanks go to the assistant manager who helped with our reservation. My sister could not make it for the family weekend & I appreciate your assistance with untangling a few logistics for us!

The jewel of Sonoma

I fell in love with this property on a work retreat and have been raving about it to my husband ever since. We finally made some time to spend a weekend wine tasting and were lucky to find a fantastic rate for the Fairmont. The spa at the hotel is an absolute must and don't skip the bath ritual inside the bathhouse.

Fairmont Sonoma

Had a beautiful stay at the Fairmont Sonoma this past weekend 21st-23rd. Hotel is located in a small town but why would you even need to leave this place in a 2 night stay. Food was awesome, staff friendly, drinks stiff and a spa building with every hot tub/pool you could need.. Oh, waiving our entry fee into the spa late on Saturday evening was a nice touch. Looking forward to coming back here again.. Sean

Fine Hotel & Resort Collections???

Booked onlin for a friend's Napa wedding. Chose the resort based on it's proximity to the venue and thought the spa facilities looked impressive. Living in NYC I'm not all together unfamiliar with high hotel per night charges. At $440/night I assumed the accommodations would be more impressive. My room was in the 'main building' next to the exposed second floor staircase. I was treated to what routinely sounded like a herd of elephants going up and down the stairs throughout the night and got very little sleep. Additionally the room was very small and barely fit the 'full bed' which was being marketed as a queen with barely enough room to walk around the it. I spoke with the front desk and a very nice young man - Daniel was able to move me to a larger and newer room for an addition $40/night for the remainder of my stay. I did notice that the $40 was also applied to my first night in the less than desirable room, but upon questioning it was removed. The spa was impressive, but I'm frankly surprised by the other reviews as I didn't find anything particularly impressive enough to have the hotel deemed luxury or a top rated resort.

Couples getaway

Beautiful room, pretty grounds but kind of in a sketchy part of town. Great food but fair to poor service and weird hours. Nice, but for the money I've stayed at better places in wine country...

Pool Service has declined

This used to be my favorite getaway spot. Sadly, not anymore. The pool staff is slow, unaccomodating, mixed up, and forgetful. While I love to spend time at the pool, dealing with the staff has become unpleasant. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Napa and Sonoma wine tour

My wife and I traveled to Napa and Sonoma for a week to visit the vineyards and stayed at the Fairmount. The resort has nice amentities, it is clean, and the staff were very service oriented. They recently redid the restaurants and lobby and the food was very good and reasonably priced for a resort. The pools are a nice feature because they are all fed from hot springs and have minerals in them. There are two pools by the spa that many people miss, but they are gorgeous and much more private than the main pool. The spa is gorgeous and the gym has the latest equipment. There were only a few negatives. First, is this resort is in a very unusual location. It is far from the action and you have to drive everwhere, but it's also in the middle of a neighborhood which has some interesting people around it. It's not what you would expect for a resort. You would never know this if you are in the resort because the grounds are beautiful and it is very quiet, but I would not walk too far at night. And I know this is really getting picky, but they really need to power wash all of the sidewalks and patios because everything has a green moss on it.

Sonoma Getaway

Our first trip to Sonoma. I thought hotel was closer to the main square. Quite far out but we made it work. Biggest surprise is there is no elevtor for the main hotel which is designated historic. We carried our bags up three flights. To be fair, we were asked if we wanted help but we thought there was an elevator. The room decor was dated and tired. Wine tastings were ok. Spa is world class and is why really makes this a good place to stay. Sante has great food and $$$$$. Staff were nice and helpful
