Hit up Paula's Pancake House directly across the way. The lines might be long but the food and charismatic host are worth the wait! Next door is Olsen's Bakery - you can get a beautiful, yummy pastry while you wait.

Attic Room with very Small Windows
We were assigned to a small attic room with high small windows in third floor that you can't even look out. It is like a prison. We have to move to other room at 1.00 AM mid night because the power circuit was off for the bathroom and TV and the circuit bracket was located in other guest room and they could not wake the other guests up so they moved us to other room with small bathroom. The rooms lay out is complicated and we were lost in finding our room. It is a good location and clean. I would recommend but pick your room!!!

Great location, some rooms better than others
We have stayed here 4 times over the past year, however, each stay the room has been a little less "nice". We always do the upgrade and usually the room is nice and what you would expect. This trip was different. The room was laid out poorly, given the unusual configuration of the hotel not 100% unexpected, however having the TV stuck in a corner off to the side with no sitting chair is really weird. Room was spartan and not very inviting. Having said that, we have gone up to the King Suite in the past and those rooms are very nice, well laid out and worth the money. We will probably stay at Hadsted House next trip as it is more predictable in the quality of room and has a pretty good hot breakfast complimentary.

More than we expected!
We booked this hotel last minute and were extremely pleased! For a small fee we upgraded to one of the loft rooms and fell in love the minute we walked in. The one down-side is that the downstairs can get pretty chilly but the upstairs was wonderful. The hotel is off the main street which makes for a nice, quiet stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful; supplying us with items we forgot, extra blankets for comfort and helping us find our way around. They provide a full-continental breakfast, wine tasting and happy hour with a fireplace in the lounge and one outside. The ONLY negative aspect was that we had to leave and go back to work! Give this hotel a try!!

Wine Valley a MUST for a Solvang stay
The Wine Valley Inn and Cottages is perfectly located half mile from the center of Solvang. Walking distance everywhere, and very close to Solvang Brewery, Heidelberg Beergarden, bakeries, and shops. The staff are incredibly friendly (Frances, Sam, and Michael from the front desk are an asset to the property). The continental breakfast is just that, don't expect to fill up.

Don't waste your money
If you want a pleasant get away, this hotel will not be the place, although it is situated in perfect location, right in the middle of shops and restaurants street. We had two room king size bed suite with a large bathroom (shower fit two). The bed was as hard as a brick, just the kind that don't give the needed rest after a long drive. The bathroom was dirty, the toilet bowl and floor were not washed. The fire place was not cleaned up, pile of ashes from previous guests. They charged me $ 221 per night for that room. The breakfast in the morning comprised of sweet rolls and hard boiled eggs.

Great Location
Wine Valley Inn is in a great vacation. Walking distance to all the stores and restaurants. The hotel is old and looks like it was updated with a little paint and some nice frames. The bathroom seemed new and really nice. Roomy room, staff was ok. Decent hotel, great location but we thought a bit pricey for the quality.

old but quaint
We arrived in the evening and fortunately the inn was not fully booked out as our initial room had only a queen bed for three people. The front desk staff was kind enough to move us to a loft room with 2 beds. Breakfast (included) was decent.
