This California Inn is located on two peaceful and rustic acres with mountain views and is close to world class wineries, restaurants, theater, casino, golf courses, shopping, and a bike path.
Within minutes of the Inn are the charming towns of Santa Ynez, Solvang and Los Olivos. Santa Barbara and beaches are within easy driving distance.
A delightful light breakfast is offered daily - in the cozy dining room or outside under the oaks. Catering is available for private functions or special events.

Meadowlark, Solvang
Quite primitive. The A/C barely worked, the TV didn't work and the shower was "funky" plus the bed really squeeked . . . never again! Oh, and the breakfast was less than primitive! [...]

Root 246 in Solvang, Acclaimed chef Bradley Ogden has a great restaurant there in addition to his restaurants in San Francisco (Market One) and in Los Vegas.

Nice but a little hyped up
Although this facility is listed as a B&B I would describe it more as a motor lodge. The units are older but clean and maintained well. We were there midweek in Jan 2011 so it was very quiet and also off season. There is plenty to do in nearby Solvang. The hotel is about 2 miles East of the town so not walking distance and it is difficult to get out onto the road to make a left into town in the early evening. There is no traffic light, its quite dark, and the traffic on the main road is going 55mph so be careful if you are headed to Solvang in the evening this time of year for dinner. The hotel grounds are nice and the employees are very friendly and attentive. We had a leaky shower in our room. I mentioned this to the desk attendant and he readily moved us to a different room which was an upgrade from the room we had booked. Nice. When we booked the reservation the description said there are microwaves in the room. Not true. Only some have microwaves. They have a small pool but unheated so too cool to use in Jan and there is no outdoor spa but some rooms have jacuzzi tubs. Cold breakfast provided was enough to get us started in the morning. Instant oatmeal and toaster waffles if you want something hot. All in all a nice place to stay for the price...similar to an express chain hotel in accommodations.

Great Stay
This hotel is small, quaint, quiet and the staff is very personable, possibly family owned. It is about 1.5 miles from downtown Solvang so close enough to go back & forth easily. We had a kitchenette which was perfect for heating up leftovers when we didn't feel like going out again. It is one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel (I am very picky) and plan on going back soon.

We enjoyed a Danish dinner and breakfast. My heritage is Danish, so appreciated the exposure.
