Pretty Setting, OLD Hotel

You can see that at one time, this was a nice hotel. Beautiful outdoor stonework. Inside, they are in trouble. Carpets fraying, and faded from time. In the bathroom, the fixtures are old, and there is extreme dust on the pipes. I touched the blanket when we got to the room, and it was HARD from old age- gross! It is so close to the Simi Valley Town Center, where we go for business, but we will not stay here again.

Clean and quiet

My only complaint was the distance from the check in desk to the room. It was quite a hike to the room...I was really tired from a long day and then found I had to walk a great distance. I will consider more expensive, better configured hotels in the future. The positive is the room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

Best Value in Simi Valley

The Grand Vista is a nice clean hotel. The staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms are large and comfortable. There are numerous restaurants and great shopping nearby. Compared to other hotels in Simi Valley; the Grand Vista is a steal.

Good place, good value

The hotel was nice and in a great location off the 118 freeway. Really close, to a nice high end mall with all kinds of food choices, You can see the room was a bit worn but very clean. And it even had a fitness area, but I did not have time to use that feature. All in all a great place to stay in Simi Valley.

You get what you pay for, but it's time to update that

While you can't beat the price, it's time to update the meaning behind the adage "you get what you pay for". Yes, what you need is a clean bed and a shower for a night. But that's the default--all hotels should offer that. The Grand Vista Hotel (and many places like it) still has CRT TVs with a Nintendo 64 attached, and nothing free to watch. And while they offer free wireless Internet access, the connection speed makes one long for the good old days of a lightning-quick 14.4 kbps dial-up modem.
