Great rooms, poor quality hotel

Rooms were huge with a full kitchen and great view. The negative part is there was nothing additional added to the experience. Checked into the room and no food, no drinks, not even a bottle of water in the room. Bed was uncomfortable and so was sitting on the pull out sofa. Bedroom TV was no more than a 15" which was too small. Infinity pool isn't what you think. It's a pool, surrounded by a gate and smaller than expected. Overall my experience was average. For what I paid I must admit I expected better services than what I received.

Dolphin Bay Inn

This is our second stay at this resort. We have booked a 2-room suite on both stays. The room is fantastic, but not as fantastic as the people. The valets, desk, spa, and even restaurant staff at the Lido go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. We will definitely be back again, and we have recommended this resort to many friends.

Definitely visit the Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville Co. in Oceano. It's ten minutes south of Pismo on Hwy 1. You will NOT be disappointed. It is surprising to find such amazing talent in such a small corner of a small town.

Excellent Hotel

We went for a deluxe double room for 2 nights. Outstanding room. The level of service is a good as it gets anywhere. Hotel manager very visible and helpful. The $20 a day resort charge is very irritating, but every thing else was excellent. My wife loved the spa treatments. Kids loved the big pool.

We will be back!

From the moment we arrived, we noticed that the service was both courteous and friendly and that the grounds were well-maintained. Our room included a full modern kitchen, dining room, living room (with pull-out sofa, flat-screen TV, DVD player), patio, as well as bedroom (supplied with a requested crib) and bathroom. Having two young children, we wished that the bathroom had a bathtub instead of a shower only. We took a stroll down to Shell Beach and the kids checked out the sea anenomes in the tide pools and played at the water's edge. After dinner, we took advantage of the pool and jacuzzi. The resort also supplied the kids with a bucket full of goodies so that they were well-entertained throughout our stay. As we were leaving, our oldest child (who hates showers) asked us when we would be coming back which is probably the best endorsement that can be given.

Check out DePalo & Sons for gourmet take-out and a great wine selection. It's only a short walk from the hotel.

Lovely location and resort

Although pricy, this was the perfect choice for our weekend in Pismo Beach. It is a suite of rooms -- bedroom, living room and full kitchen, tastefully appointed. The views are striking. The resort pool is longer than most hotel pools -- about 20 yards -- and easy for lap-swimming. We had a very relaxing weekend.

Dining tip: In Hotel

If you want to eat an elegant meal, Lido Restaurant located in the resort is a good choice. Not cheap, but the butternut squash ravioli was delicious!
