Do not

My friend booked this hotel through [...]so we could spend fourth of July weekend wine tasting in the Santa Rosa/Healdsburg area. We requested a non-smoking room and upon arrival this request was denied because "you booked your room using [...]and this request is not a guarantee". We proceeded to our smoking room hoping that it wasn't so bad but we were very disappointed. After leaving the balcony open and the ac running day and night our room still reeked of smoke. Next morning, we called guests services hoping they could accommodate our request only to be reminded that "you booked your room using [...]and this request is not a guarantee". [...]

We enjoyed a trip to "Safari West" and also the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County - along with our family. The hotel was clean and quiet with great breakfasts.

Wine Country Inn & Suites

Room was surpisingly in great shape although the stairway leading up was in rough shape with torn anti-slip strips and cracked floor tiles. And as we passed the nearby Housekeepers' storage room, we noted that the door was open and it was a cluttered mess (which doesn't say much for the associates' pride in the workplace). It would have been nice to have 2 full bath towels instead of just one which we didn't discover until showering in the morning. Ever try to dry yourself with hand towels? The balcony was a great extra amenity except it had no furniture so we had to drag desk chair "in and out" which was a bit difficult when my wife wanted to work at the desk. The breakfast was a joke. By 9am on a Saturday, the regular coffee was gone. I had to ask (more like beg) for a tiny yogurt. And by then the attendant had already partially closed the door. We departed for the Piner Cafe for a real breakfast. The biggest disappointment was the staff. From the moment we checked in until the moment we departed, we had little or no interaction. The Associates did not appear to be that busy but almost no one would look you in the eye and smile; even when I acknowledged the Housekeepers as we passed. The final impression came when Front Desk Clerk would not print me a copy of my bill explaining that I already had a copy since I had purchased the room on-line [...].

unbeatable location for the price

As we were visiting the area for Sonoma State University Graduation ceremonies and all of the good hotel/motels closer to Rohnert Park were filled, I found this hotel as an alternate. The rooms were large, clean, well supplied with toiletries and towels and most of all quite. In the morning, we were treated to a self served buffet breakfast which was actuallly pretty good. As a plus, there is a Starbucks located next door.

Exactly what we needed

We needed a place to stay for one night to attend a graduation and wanted it to be clean and safe. Exactly what we needed. Had a fridge to keep the wine cold too... plus a really decent free breakfast included. We'll be back whenever we go to Santa Rosa.

Not fancy but nice

The hotel was a base for wine tasting and some local hiking. The hotel was not fancy but was clean and comfortable. In comparison to other hotels in the area, it was certainly worth the cost. It also appears that an effort is being made to upgrade.

Good location, decent hotel

We were on a road trip through the wine country visiting Healdsburg (Sonoma) and then on to Calistoga, St. Helena and Napa. This hotel was at a great location close enough to Healdsburg but not as expensive as downtown Healdsburg. The room was good, spacious, HD TV, HBO etc. The hot breakfast was decent too. Our 2 main cribs were that the sink was a little slow to drain - not a big deal but a minor nuisance and the fact that the advertised WiFi was weak and unpredictable.

A very mixed review.

The motel is undergoing renovation but daily sweeping the floor in the computer room should be done. Dry cereal spilled on the breakfast room floor is not swept up. Plastic cups & medium towels are not always issued daily. It appears the room maids are not adequately trained to follow a daily checklist for the rooms. Our wakeup phone call on our final morning was not received and was dismissed with a "Sorry about that."

Buy your breakfast coffee across the street at McDonalds and avoid the half-strength coffee at the Holiday Inn breakfast room.
