Ocean View Hotel

The hotel is onlder with simple furniture. The carpet was new and clean. If you are looking for plush and fancy, then pay more money. This one was clean but simple. Is close to pier/ocean.

Great price for being a beach front hotel within walking distance to the Santa Monica pier.

Location is perfect, walking distance to shopping, beach and pier. Parking is tight and limited. Outside doors were loud when closing. Large trucks could be heard in the alley. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful.

Room is average - not bad for the price. The parking charge is $20/day and this is not indicated anywhere nor do they tell you. The location is great and the staff was very courteous. The location couldn't be better for Santa Monica.

Excellent location, across the street from the ocean and the pier. The rooms are small, no special amenities, and no breakfast at the location.

Pleasant breezy hotel with lots of parking, currently. $20 overnight. Think my room card got zapped before check-out so a friendly staff member let me in. Ocean view rooms probably better for street noise on the upper levels, we were just above street level, which is fun if you like to people watch. The hotel is centered between the Pier and Wilshire Blvd. Most of Santa Monica shopping and restaurants are in walking distance. Our kids enjoyed the balcony and the grassy park areas above the beach. The beach is long and down some stairs and there's a handy foot bridge arching over PCH here. The hotel recommended a child friendly restaurant. Negatives were small beds and narrow hallways. And spotty wifi; in fact I could not get internet service Friday night. But the rooms didn't feel cramped at all, and often felt roomy.

It was really cool seeing all the people and the Pier.

IThis place was one step above motel 6, [...] described this place at the same category as the Doubletree two blocks away.Noise from the next door compresor kept us awake. The staff of the hotel was aware of "that noisy room". Horrible beds and pillows!!!

I had high hopes and expectations for this hotel but was very disappointed. The rooms were far below average. The room doesn't even have a fridge. You would think the hotel would at least invest in a refrigerator so that their guests can have a cold drink after they spend hours out on the beach in the sun. They also have awful Internet connection. It's wifi network is extremely spotty. The connections are also unsecured so anyone on the street can connect to it and potentially steal your information. Finally, don't let the name of the hotel fool you. Only a limited number of rooms have actual ocean view and it's not even that great because the building is only four stories high.
