It was okay....

nothing spectacular about it but hey for the price and the location it wasn't bad. I don't know if I would stay there again but it wasn't horrible. Also the parking attendant is really SHADY. He tries to get extra parking money from you when you have already settled up with the hotel. Stay away from the parking attendant.

one block from the pier and the promenade. park at the hotel because its safe. but stay away from teh parking attendant when he asks for more parking money. He's SHADY.

Excellent location

The location of this hotel was excellent. Right next to the beach and the pier. We were not in the room much because of all the things to do. Walked to Malibu and back to Venice then to the 3rd street prominade. The best thing was that if we needed to put things in the room or grab something it did not waste any time at all. We would go back.

Great location

Room is average - not bad for the price. The parking charge is $20/day and this is not indicated anywhere nor do they tell you. The location is great and the staff was very courteous. The location couldn't be better for Santa Monica.

Getaway

Hotel was OK,nothing special.Good location,Staff was ok Nothing said about parking charges $20.00 when booking room.Has sister hotel down the street (new) looks nice.OK for quick getaway.

Very Satisfactory

The staff at the Ocaen View were as great as the view from our room. They were helpful, informative and courteous. The room and amenities were not out of this world but acceptable by any standard.

Would stay here again.

Great location, Nice staff. Would have been nice to have a mini fridge in room. Right near all the nightlife of santa monica. Great times were had.

Awesome location

Definitely get the ocean side room. The view is fantastic. Do not get the city side unless you don't mind a view of the water heater. We were able to walk easily to the 3rd street promenade, the Santa Monica pier, the beach, Palisades Park and Venice. This hotel is so close to so much that we didn't mind there was no continental breakfast. We would definitely go back.

Affordable

The hotel is onlder with simple furniture. The carpet was new and clean. If you are looking for plush and fancy, then pay more money. This one was clean but simple. Is close to pier/ocean.

Great location on the beach in

Great location on the beach in Santa Monica but the hotel service overall was not great. Be sure to check the cleanliness of the bathroom towels. It is very rare I come a cross a poor value for money hotel but this is one I would not return to.
