Great Location, not great sound proof.

The Hotel is very well located and it is very well restored and remodeled for a Historic Hotel. I loved the front veranda where you could sit to have breakfast, dinner or just cocktails! The staff was overall very friendly and curteous. The rooms were very well kept, however, they were very small. The biggest downside to this hotel was that you could hear everrything going on in the hallways as well as the adjacent rooms.

Great front porch

I have visited LA for over 6 years as my children live in the area and stayed in a variety of hotels. The Georgian attracted my attention because of its porch and it didn't disappoint me. I loved sitting out there, having coffee, having a snack, having cocktails in the late afternoon. the view is spectacular. The rooms are very small, and did not have a chair to lounge in, which I would have liked. The staff was very courteous and accommodating, the location is fantastic within walking distance to so many Santa Monica sights. There was no pool or fitness center that I saw, but the beach and its walking path are right across the street.

Common areas need upgrade

The hotel rooms are very nice, however, the common areas, eg the lobby, hallways, etc. are very old and definitely need upgrading, thereby detracting from the overall experience. Other similarly priced Santa Monica hotels within walking distance are much nicer. I was a bit disappointed. Also, fitness area small.

Excellent location

The hotel is walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants (Third Promenade). Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Reception staff was a little slow but friendly and curteous. Turndown service is provided in the evening. The Veranda restaurant (actually a veranda) is a convenient option for breakfast, lunch or dinner and provides good views. Would go again.

The Georgian Hotel is a place I

Lots of ambiance. Suites were large and very comfortable. I actually had a second suite for my son and his wife as we were there to attend the Creative Arts Emmys with him. The ocean views were somewhat disappointing as could only be seen from one room of the suites and cost extra. Surrounding area provided great restaurants as well as shopping and a beautiful beach within easy walking distance. There is small restaurant and bar in hotel entrance we enjoyed for breakfast which also provides great room service (very fast). Food was excellent. Hotel allowed our hair stylists and makeup artist to valet park but charged $9 per vehicle which we paid. They do not provide shuttle service at all but are very helpful in calling taxi when required (to LAX $43). Helpful in obtaining rental car and did waive parking fee for that. Would be a great place for relaxing weekend but our schedule was so busy we couldn't properly enjoy it. Would definitely return. I would rate it 4 1/2. The only problem was maid service discarded personalized hangers from my sons room (tuxedo hangers and ball gown hanger) which they replaced on request but were unable to locate originals. Replacements did not work nearly as well as originals.

Nickel & Dime me, why don't you?

Basically, the hotel was awesome other than the irritant that was that almost every horizontal surface in the room was devoted to those vile touch-pad sensors. Want to or not, you can't move the hotels' over-priced product out of your way without getting charged for them. Seriously, Management; for the price I paid for the night you could at least afford me a couple extra square inches of counter space.

Nice Historic Hotel in a Great Location

Great location with plenty to do within walking distance. 3rd street promenade, the pier, the beach (in summer) Safe area even at night. Easy to find from airport, short drive to hollywood, beverly hills, malibu, venice and long beach. Breakfast is pretty good but plenty of other places nearby for variety. Small shop around the corner if you want beer, liquor, or soda for the room. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Valet parking very convenient although $25 per day. Feels like you stepped back in time with a 1933 historic hotel. Veranda front porch nice for people watching. Recommend ocean front rooms the higher the better to see over the palm trees at the park across the street. 8th (top) floor is the best for views. No complaints with the hotel, the staff, or the area.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you go on a drive, take a GPS and avoid the highways. You will see a lot more and avoid the traffic. Drive up the pacific coast highway north for some amazing views. Just keep your eye on the road or pull over to take some breathtaking photos.

Location, Location, Location

We enjoyed our stay at the Georgian Hotel; valet parking was a bit high, but very convenient. The hotel was clean and everyone was very friendly/helpful. The best part of this hotel is the location. You are a short walk to the pier, beach, great restaurants, and shopping. We are planning to go back without the kids next.

Georgian Hotel

Very friendly staff. Old fashioned place that has been updated. Excellent veranda out front for dining. Back rooms a bit noisy due to dumpsters.
