Days Inn Santa Monica/Los Angeles

The hotel/motel does need some renovating. It seems that it's reached the end of the previous renovation cycle and a new one is called for. Although the rooms are clean, they are small (you get what you pay for i guess). It would have been great if they had a closet, but i guess an area with hangers (as the rooms had) suffices as well. The location is quite good. Though nothing is really walking distance, most everything is a few minutes drive. Sta. Monica pier is about 2 miles down. Venice beach is about 2.5 miles away. If they do undergo a renovation, then i would definitely stay here again!

Check in was a little slow and they checked us in before our room was clean so we had to wait a few minutes in the hallway for house cleaning to finish. The room was pretty standard and nice and we enjoyed our stay.

This is a dump of a hotel. The staff were unfriendly, they wanted to charge us 5.00 to hold our luggage until the room was ready or leave the luggage in the dirty roo. The toilet seat was broken, the carpet was so dirty that when I lifted the bed skirt which was very dirty there was a half inch of dirt under the bed. The overall appearance of the room was dingy. I was very disappointed in the Days Inn Chain to allow this to remain on thier lists. I think [...] or Days inn should go there and see what everyone else is seeing. [...] There really wasnt a breakfast either and they claim that they give you one. Had to eat out both mornings I was there.

Great overall

Car got hit in parking lot. Staff said nothing they could do even though sign is posted 24 hr surveillance.

Wireless Internet kept overloading and dropping out over and over again and we had to go to the office and they had to reset the system - at 10pm one night they reset it for us and 5 minutes later it was gone again - so we gave up - then the same thing the next morning. Breakfast was basic and the breakfast room was small and crowded. Our hotel room was clean and parking was free.

Friendly and courteous staff, very clean rooms, good location in Santa Monica. Stayed one other night. Noise in the night was the only complaint I have, as other guests were very vocal and boisterous. Much better accommadations than on previous trips.

There were some noisy neighbors next door, not the hotel's fault, but not good anyhow. The hotel employees were great. Helpful and friendly. Loved the internet connection and location.
