simple sophistication

We stayed while visiting family in Lompoc and were impressed by what we got for the price. Staff was extremely cordial. Room had wonderful contemporary touches. Bed was right mix of firm and soft. Continental breakfast was better than most that bare that title and food was promptly restocked.

nice room

Hotel is centrally located. Grocery store across the street came in handy(picked up a last minute bottle of wine for dinner)also post office around the corner . Room was clean, bed comfortable, lighting dim in room, removed lampshade, helped a bit. wi-fi available. Lobby has a wide screen tv that made it nice for guest to come and watch by the fireplace. Continental breakfast could use a boost.esp for us late risers..(9am and it was pretty empty) 2nd time i've stayed, for the price, will stay again.comfortable overall .

Not what I expected...SO MUCH BETTER

Santa Maria is not a world-class destination but if you find that you must spend a night here, the Travel Lodge was an outstanding hotel. It appears as if it has been recently refurbished. Large king size beds, comfy mattress and pillows, refrigerators and nicely laid out floor plans and clean, clean, clean room. The staff was friendly and while the continental breakfast is the motel standard of cereal, toast and waffles, the cleanliness of the rooms and the quiet atmosphere (even though it is on a busy street) made up for it. I was shocked. If you look around at the other motels available in S.M., you will be happy you booked here.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

PCPA is a first rate theatre company that performs musicals and dramas year round. They are located on Alan Hancock College's facilities and are about a ten minute drive. Well worth it.

Good place for a good price.

We had a good experience at the Travelodge Santa Maria. The facility is a little older, but it was very clean and very adequate. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (waffles, fruit, juice, coffee, toast, cold cereals and oat meal) and the comfortable king sized beds. We would stay there again if in the area.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Casa Manana (established in 1964) is a short drive from the Motel and has good food, friendly atmosphere and great prices. They do not accept CC just local checks or cash.
