Nice Hotel Close to Boardwalk/Downtown
My only issue with this was that when I booked the room I was told I booked a room with a microwave and refrigerator and when I checked in I did not have either in my room. Since we were staying for several days I had planned on having these amenities and thus could not take left overs back to my room and couldn't put the water bottles/sodas I had brought with me in a fridge. Also... Bring your own pillow!! The staff was courteous enough to provide us with 2 more... but I the pillows were not comfortable at all.

We were in Santa Cruz for a wedding. We wanted to be within walking distance of the Boardwalk because we enjoy being able to walk everywhere. The location was great. The Boardwalk is a five minute walk away. The hotel was sufficient for sleeping--nothing fancy, but it was clean. Check-in and out was pleasant. The continental breakfast consists of two kinds of cereal.

There has got to be better
I was traveling for business and found the price on this hotel palatable. I guess I can't be too surprised at the following shortcomings at the price, but some of this stuff in my opinion should be better than it was. The beds and pillows are not very comfortable unless you idea of comfortable is being able to feel the springs in the mattress. I tossed and turned each night before getting comfortable enough to fall asleep. To make matters worse the walls and ceilings are very thin. Faintly being able to hear the tv in the next room didn't really bother me, but hearing the family in the room above mine until 11pm was like trying to sleep in a construction zone. After two calls to the front desk and the same number of manager visits to that room, the rukus finally subsided. The lobby was tiny and had a strong smell of onions. The continental breakfast was weak at best. With your choice of 2 cereals and 3 total packaged pastries. Other than that the rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. It's just a place in bad need of remodeling and upgrading.

Worth the money; great staff.
we wanted to be near the boardwalk but not spend a lot on a motel; 5 minute walk, free parking and they let us park 3 hours prior to check in, VERY polite and friendly staff; clean and quiet room (Sunday night tho); beds a little stiff; quick mart next block; not much walkable around after hours but fine to drive; next morning ate at Santa Cruz Diner AWESOME - 10 minutes away; worth the $ we saved!

Overpriced basic accomodations
I guess Santa Cruz is more of a destination place than I thought. Decor is dated and the beds are close to being built in trampolines. They do have mircrowave and mini fridges in the rooms so I guess that is a consolation. Overall I think my next Santa Cruz stay I will spring for money and stay somewhere else that at least feels good and not like a total waste of money. I would have rather camped in a tent, at least I enjoy that!

Great Location
The Super 8 motel was just 2 blocks from the beach which made it real nice. however I feel that the price for the room was a little much considering there really wasn't much to it. It was a good stay though.

It was only 5 mins away from the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and across the street from the wharf which is only a short walk away there is a great sandwich place that makes delicious deli style sandwiches.
