not that great but does the trick

Needs Major repair. Also The staff was okay I mean they weren't rude but they also were not happy to be there. They were however nice enough to let us check in a half hour early. When got your room how ever We're Greeted by the made was balling her eyes out speaking very quickly in spanish too young boy. Not very professional at all. It was however nice that all of the doors open to outside. For a saturday night it was pretty quiet. But I had some major issues with the fact that they were needed a deep cleaning. It looks like no one had wiped down the walls in the bathroom for months The shower curtain in the bathroom had mold on it. And half of the bedding/ linens was stained The towels in our room are sub standard Not dirty but definitely not what I would of picked for my room

Good price, at a price

Room was comfortable. Location is convenient. Nobody was at the check-in desk in the evening or any of 3 mornings. We had to phone the hotel to get someone to show up at the desk.No cups or coffee at breakfast, and no one came to tend to breakfast, despite our knocking on doors and calling out. After phoning the hotel, an employee came out and took care of breakfast refills. We ate out all 3 mornings. Maids failed to restock some items, crumbs were found around sink when we arrived and were never cleaned for 3 days. Pool was padlocked.

What you Pay for is what you get

We used this as a place to sleep, which is really all it is. Could use a good remodel, but the location is perfect if you need to walk downtown!

No way 3 stars

Trashy guests screaming all night before finally taken away by the police. Internet goes out. Beds comfortable but shrunken in middle. Walls so thin that we could hear everything of neighbors. I was disappointed!

Weekday getaway

Hotel was much better than some of the earlier reviewers had rated and commented. Our stay at the hotel pleasant. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds, pool, room, bed, and towels were exceptionally clean and well maintained. (No signs of mold or dirty carpeting, and I looked.) For the price we got through ORBITZ, it was a real sweet deal. Thanks.

Avoid if possible!

We checked in late in the evening. When we got to the room, the decor was outdated ( by a couple of decades), the carpet didn't look like it had seen a vacuum in a few months, there hair on the shower walls, and to top it all off, the sheets were dirty. Would not recommend this hotel. The pictures are deceiving.

Worst Ramada ever!

For more than what I paid Hilton's Honor corporate rate, my stay was unpleasant. It is ok for them to use your credit card as security, to charge for "actual damages." The manager required me to sign an agreement to preset penalties in advance, i.e., $200 for smoking, $200 for pets etc. We wanted a no smoking room, and we did not bring a pet. Not withstand customers are reasons for their existing, the staff argued with me, not knowing I am a owner of properties and I know the law. "Have you stayed at a hotel before?" "So what are you going to do, complain to Ramada?" (Of course not.... they allowed you to set this policy.) [...] There is no room for a pool, thus making the parking difficult to navigate in tight spots. This is not a cheap hotel. Go there if you don't expect customer service and don't mind being treated like a red neck. Has Ramada been outsourced to India for its hospitality management?

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is best seen with the all day pass, unless you are only going to be there for an hour or less. The price of individual tickets for three or four rides is more than if you buy the unlimited ride wristband. Ride the Giant Dipper, walk along West Cliff at sunset. Even though it is August, it gets chilly early with the fog. Least amount of fog is in September and October, and you avoid all the crowds.
